I love Mitch, so many memorable jokes
An escalator is one thing that cannot break, it can only become stairs
I used to love tennis, until I realised, I will never be better than, a wall
Last week I helped my friend stay put. It's a lot easier'n helpin' 'em move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to load shit into a truck

He's got so many!

Just read that back and realised it definitely needs his cadence and delivery for the full effect

Sam Campbell last night at Hackney Empire was one of the most obscure and hilarious things I've ever seen.

Saw Bill Bailey Saturday night, was looking forward to seeing him but did not find him funny at all live.
-
• #384
That's disappointing. I've seen him before and enjoyed his stuff. Was it plain standup or his more typical blend of music and gags?

He was brilliant on Taskmaster, never heard of him before. I’m curious if he grew up watching Vic & Bob, did they get that in New Zealand?
-
• #386
New Zealand?
Top trolling.
He is fucking funny though. So off the wall. He reminds me of a mate of mine.
-

😬
Yeah he’s brilliant. Heard him on a podcast too, didn’t disappoint.

It was a blend. It was entertaining but I think I laughed 4 times in 2 hours (unlike the 4 people behind me who were in stitches after every word he spoke).
Maybe I am just a miserable cunt.We are seeing Lee Francis next week, will be interesting to see what he is like without the Keith Lemon act.
Edit: I see he will be doing some of his characters

He's doing another show at the Indigo at O2 I think - won't say much but if absurd is your vibe with some very strong PowerPoint then it's well worth getting a ticket.
Does a fairly long show for the £20 odd price - even Greg Davies showed up for a cameo, hah

He was very funny on cats does countdown and then better on taskmaster, deffo my kind of humour.

It happens to the best of us.

Greg Davies
The comedy version of Benedict Cumberbatch, in bloody everything.

Not strictly stand up, but we went to see Garth Marenghi's Incarcerat last week. Very good!

• #394
Thanks, good heads up.

How was it? As bad as this review makes out?! 😬

It was very hit and miss, more miss than hit to be honest.
Some things were totally unnecessary and crass and added nothing to the comedy (I am not easily offended and wasn't but some things were just pathetic).
Between acts there was a big screen and for some of it they did characters from celebrity goggle box and that was funny but a lot of the on stage stuff was average at best.
A lot of people didn't return from the interval, that is quite telling.
Of course there are the usual people that will laugh at anything and I guess that is what these shows feed off of
I wouldn't bother going to see him again.
I see Greg Davies is announcing a tour soon, I may give him a try.

Greg Davies
Never found him very funny as a stand up personally. Lots of information not much in the way of joke formation (for me).
I've been watching (and listening to) a bit of early Sean Lock, even when gags didn't land it was more about the audience not keeping up with Sean's train of thought. Brilliant.

Always wanted to see Sean Lock, one of my wife's friends saw him and didn't find him at all funny which I was surprised about
-
• #399
I saw him in about 1996-7 With Rich Hall and Noel Fielding. He was amazing. Way more surreal back then. As was Noel Fielding!

I can imagine!!
I listened to Mitch for the first time in a long time the other night whilst making dinner and even though I've heard it all before I was howling
