Got any with just "Bullshit" on them?

I wouldn't say this T-shirt is a good idea, but then what 'inspired' it is a lot of bad ideas in the first place. Hard to think what else to do, really. It's such a depressing situation around this whole issue.
Now, if you inserted a 'P' before the 'isti' I think more people on the forum would buy one. ;)

Right, ok.
So what's your point with your version Nick? Or is it just a humorous switch-a-roo? Genuine question.

I had a nasty run in with NYPD whilst visiting a few years ago:

Shocking state of affairs, and London seems to be as bad these days.

A friend of mine works for the UN in Syria, when he came back for xmas he did a bit of rickshawing (I know, why?) and got stopped by the police who took a similar tone to your NYPD friends. First they had a problem with the tax issues of cash in hand, then they asked him to empty his pockets on grounds of counter terrorism only to find lots of syrian and Lebanese money and notes written in arabic. This prolonged the conversation somewhat.

No, I haven't. I was asking if there was a particular message in GP's version (knowing that he enjoys a certain kind of 'investigative' photography) OR if it is just the comedic play on words it appears to be.
It sounds like I'm being an arsehole but I'm really not.

Looks as if your strategy was exactly right, especially with a nifty backup gizmo. I hope people won't be needing those increasingly.

There are bound to be officers of the law who will get neither the allusion to the original nor the joke and take it completely literally. I hope that I'm wrong, of course. I have to admit that I also don't find the mere inversion of the original slogan particularly funny. I can't think of anything better, though.
I find it incredible how afraid the mere mention of the t-word makes people. When we ran into trouble at Gatwick on the last Brighton overnighter, I remember the police officers' scared reaction when the t-word was even mentioned--and I was only asking whether they thought we were terrorists, as the reason they advanced for their behaviour was clearly not the real reason, just the legal mechanism they were proposing to use to evict us.
(I then also asked if they thought we were anti-airport protesters, which, judging from their reaction, wasn't far off terrorism--but they denied it again, of course, with the exception of one junior officer who was a bit more sensible and seemed to be the only one to realise that he wouldn't be giving away a state secret if he admitted it.)

I reckon they will.
Even with Andy Trotter's recent clarification of the law sent out to all the fluro-goons roaming our streets I doubt there will be any change in the increasingly confrontational and aggressive (and often simply unlawful) behaviour of the ever growing gangs of police, PCSOs, enforcement officers, council officers and all the other petty figures of authority granted the right to stop who they like when they like without the need for any wrong doing.
The solution is a system that uploads video/photos directly from your camera to the internet for storage/distribution (to something like your Youtube account) - so when some PCSO tries to harass you, detain you or generally wants to fuck about with your day because his cock is too small - the video and images on your camera are already out of reach of his unlawful attempts to either view what is on your camera or delete what is on your camera.
There are already a couple of things on the market, like SD cards with built in Wi-Fi - but you need to be in a Wi-Fi zone - I am sure something will be available fairly soon - if it can't be cobbled together already from a few bits and pieces.
There was always this idea that citizen journalism (basically cameras got cheap, so everyone has one in their pocket/phone) would keep the authorities in check, stop some of their more egregious abuses, but that now seems a little naive, the idea that the state would allow itself to be monitored so easily was a little too simple, in come the laws, in comes the culture.
[/rambling rant . . . ]

I'd imagine that what would then happen would be mass camera seizing, as the 'soft' option of deleting the images wouldn't be available any more. The only difficulty is that that would then probably have to be made legal, as the photographer concerned would undoubtedly want to recover their property, and, unlike image deletion (in many cases), camera seizing wouldn't be something that people would just shrug off. :(

It's not particularly funny, I think it's more of a 'fuck all this nonsense' type thing. Well that's how I imagine it - sometimes it's just good to stir up an issue - provoke a reaction, any reaction rather that allow the culture to grow and embed itself.
I find it incredible how afraid the mere mention of the t-word makes people.
Tit-job ?
When we ran into trouble at Gatwick on the last Brighton overnighter, I remember the police officers' scared reaction when the t-word was even mentioned--and I was only asking whether they thought we were terrorists, as the reason they advanced for their behaviour was clearly not the real reason, just the legal mechanism they were proposing to use to evict us.
Of course, the decade of statist legislation - RIPA, Terrorism Act 2000/2006, Anti-Terrorism Act (etc) are incredibly damaging pieces of woefully drawn up legislation - they are routinely abused (according the government's own reports) - they are free reign to every state goon who woke up in a bad mood.
I then also asked if they thought we were anti-airport protesters, which, judging from their reaction, wasn't far off terrorism--but they denied it again, of course, with the exception of one junior officer who was a bit more sensible and seemed to be the only one to realise that he wouldn't be giving away a state secret if he admitted it.
Indeed the public is slowly being lead to believe that lawful protest is somehow criminal - largely due to the efforts of ACPO - whose efforts include an attempt to rebrand protesters as "domestic extremists".
The recent announcement that the Home Office is planning a significant expansion of covert state surveillance of the public with the routine use of 'spy drones' - listed as it's target *'antisocial motorists, protesters, agricultural thieves and fly-tippers*'.
Here we see the the planting of a perfectly lawful activity into a list of petty criminals. This only needs to be kept up for another few years to make restrictions on protest enter law without much of a public outcry.

Well to be honest it's not an option now, an officer needs a court order to delete images from your camera, it is absolutely and unambiguously illegal for them to do so with out that court order - after all what exactly is the point of deleting images? If they really think you are a terrorist then what they are doing is standing in the street with a terrorist destroying the evidence against him.
It is also only under 'exceptional circumstances' that an officer has even got the right to view at the images on your camera.
None of this, as you already know, stops officers from deleting your images, video footage - there is little you can do.
