  • You don't want mudguards on terrain like that. They'll get clogged up with mud and foul the wheel.

So it's a case of giving yourself a rub down with some HTFU before you leave then?

  • Crosser I think with some cheap and robust 23s Blizzards probably.
Would have been nice to do t on the Gios, but it won't be restored by then.

  • So it's a case of giving yourself a rub down with some HTFU before you leave then?

Yes. Do you see Boonen, Cancellara et al fitting mudguards before the proper Enfer du Nord?

    :-)

  • Andy are you doing this?

Thinking about it the last few Aprils have been pretty warm and dry.

  • BTW Andy it's me (lifts up sun glasses) oldgit from over there.

  • I could be up for this - especially tempted by the power washer

  • Any word on the start time for this?

  • looks like fun

A subscription for this thread has been added.

  • bump

  • :( I don't have a suitable bike for this

  • I sent in my registration yesterday, so hopefully there are some places still. I am very excited about this, need to borrow the Vittoria Open Paves off my Mums bike.

  • GAv - how do you register? I thought it was a free event.

  • Watch the website

I'm not sure that I'm posh enough to join Piers, Lowell, et al...
    :-)

  • @shannon it is free.

  • Free is my kinda price :0)

  • Anymore details on this or am I missing something, really fancy returning to my old haunting ground after thirty years.

it will be mental.. and very messy.. praying for loads of rain and frost before next sunday.. followed by beer and chips in pub and watch the paris-roubaix afterwards..

  • *Free to those that can afford it, very expensive to those that can't. *

  • I would like to do this if I had the right bike

  • don't you have a cervelo to borrow?
(i think Planet-x, Boardman and Felt are banned from this event)

  • I am doing it on my 80s 7-speed Peugeot, with 25s. Not sure if I should go with 13-23 or 11-28.

  • I'm doing it on my tricross, 42-17 with stelvio 28s. Looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun, shame the forecast is good, we need to do a raindance!

  • i'm doing this with a few others from the forum so see you all out there. i think that i'm going to wish that i had a more suitable bike half way through...

  • 54.4 miles and only 250 feet of climbing, according to the route download. Should be a breeze :-)
