what's the venue address?

It's like 40 miles up and down a lovely scenic route that's pretty narrow and cars are impatient. At least - that's the direct way.

I'd be up for it, i do about 150 miles a week on my polo bike as it is... But it would need to be a significant saving?!
(I was also seriously up for riding the whole way)

That said, I have no idea how hilly the peak district really is.
Only what I can gather from its name.
you're too funny! haha!

doubt you would save much, if anything

Emmet just wants to say he spent his gap year travelling.

what's the address of the venue? guys? guys?

I would be up for it, slap a different gearing on and who cares about wind hitting the disk.
Not sure I would be bothered enough to do it on my own, but with someone else I reckon it would be a cool thing to do.
From Sheffield it's up and down Snake Pass, then into Manc via Glossop. You really need to be concerned about a disc, it can be bad enough up there with something like a Shamal on the front.

Mentalist. I have toured over the Peaks a couple of times, and Sheffield - Manchester is NOT a morning's ride. Especially not on a polo bike with a disc.

grrr.
-
• #287
We could always take the discs off...
I have done the ride to glossop from mcr, although atmittedly on a normal road bike, and very high...
But I assume that's the easy bit of the trip.

I have visions of Emmet's elation at conquering the peak district turning to despair as he gets lost in Manchester and wanders into Moss Side. He turns up to the tournament bikeless and confused, with his rags in rags.

not far from the often newsworthy Longsight, of 'Longsight Crew' fame....

Yew Tree Ave, Manchester, Greater Manchester M19 3, United Kingdom

but fair on them, they do like their bikes....
"The court was told gang members had chased each other through hospital corridors on bikes and pulled guns on their rivals"
Bless'em...

thanks all!

• #298
Ha! How on earth can you swagger about when your gang's called "Gooch"?
-
• #299
I lived in longsight.
The house opposite ours was a drug and prostitution den, got raided, never before or since have I seen such large amounts of coke.

Err, yeah. Snake Pass is one of the classic climbs in the UK. Makes Ditchling look like what it is: a speed-bump with delusions of grandeur.
you should probably come up on the Friday then if your planning on doing that, couldn't imagine cycling from Sheff and then playign polo!
