  • fuck me they're spensive these days,

  • i'll put a conti tub on it, you'll be right as rain.

  • Well, if they're free I'll ride 'em :P

  • HED3 sold to hippy... Pop over anytime you like, dude...

  • you can has borrow till end of march if you want.

  • Ok so I am still looking for a cheap tri spoke if anyones got one!

  • Do you seriously have those, Ed?

  • yeah he has.

  • Nice. Want.

  • That bike looks far too small and tops? You need to give me those wheels now. It's the law.

  • it does look ridiculous in that picture but i must have been tall that day.

was being serious about the loan though...

doing a half marathon in march so not going on the track till after it...

  • plus im clearly having a warm up spin there.

my helmet must work like a air brake in the drops though....

  • Warm up near the black line but on the tops? Nah.. I bet you skidded to a stop just after the pic was taken and then threw in a barspin for the crowd.. ;)

Thanks for the offer but I'll be riding to most of my TTs and want to stick with clinchers.

  • no worries, thats what cannisters of pit stop are for...

seriously though, my bike looks way too small for me in that picture, i think its a bit of an optical illusion though, people who see me riding it at the tarck, does it always looks that silly?

maybe im not as small as spaghetti hoops after all

  • and im clearly slowing down, top of chain is slack and near the end of the home straight so my positioning is even more justified.

  • Yeah, I've never used sealants and stuff so prefer to stick with what I know, hence clinchers. Wouldn't want the spray gunk to fail half way through a race.

It looks too small to me but I'm no expert and you're on the tops and possibly shuffled up a bit if you're slowing quickly. Get your bike on a trainer and have someone look at you while riding or take a photo. You can then get some idea of how much air you're catching. Adjust, test, adjust, test, etc.

  • Hi sorry any of you might have noticed i am pretty new.

Basically i really like the look of Carbon wheel but i could only afford a cheap second hand one, as i said i have a charge plug and need a new front wheel thanks to thieves.

I would only be using it for commute so i am not fussed about quality or weight as long as it looks good and rides ok.

Is £50 a realitsic price for such an item?

  • No.

  • Is there nothing older/cheaper circulating?

I am sorry if these are stupid questions i am pretty noob

  • I sold a Spinergy Rev-X for £65. But with these wheels you take your life into your hands..

This is likely to go up a lot then?

Also is 650c vs 700c important? How much size difference is there?

  • If you'd like something totally "pimpin'" then you'll be wanting the Mavic iO Track:
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Mavic_iO_5_Spoke_SSC_Tubular_Front_Track_Wheel/5360046129/

A mere £ 2,288 (if you have the Wiggle Platinum discount).

Decide what you mean by "pimpin'", but if it's a carbon wheel then your price range is from £300 to £3,000.

If you mean deep section rim then it's a whole other ball game, but look for Zipp.

    Google is your friend.

    Yes.

It's also a 650C tub. Asking what the difference between 650/700C is you should not be looking at any tubs.
