Just to keep things a bit on track, who would be happy to pitch in a tenner for the Tweed Run?
Say, three quid of it for the running of the event, and seven crisp English pounds to charity?I can appreciate the views aired on here, but I still think that as we donated to charity last year we should keep up the good work, so to speak. (and remember, the goody bag last year was quite lush - just think what Teddy and Jacqui be able to do with some actual money to spend!)

Goody bag? I must have missed that. Still, more than happy to stump up a crisp tenner.

the thought's appreciated, but don't bother with the list. we're not passing around a hat. we've got sponsorship that will hopefully cover all the costs of the ride. i just want to make sure that there's a decent wad of cash to hand over to our charity this year.

You sure, Teddy?
I realise you're not coming here tweed cap in hand, but I only think it's right that people pay for what they get - I drank about thirty quids worth of gin last year!
I still think a tenner would be the best amount to ask, though.

That's because last year you were reporter man Sparkes.

Fair point - I'd better put in more than a tenner

Fair point.
How is the charity cash going to be collected then? A JustGiving/Virgin Charity page would be an easy way, if they support your charity?

Goody bags? There were goody bags?

Anyway, I was so "merry" on my way back home, that I lost all the bits I paid for.

Yeah, the goody bag that came with your registration pack! You know, the cotton bag with bits and bats in side. Can't actually remember what was in there now, but I'm still using the bag for nipping to the off licence!

The charitable side of the Tweed Run was very subtle last year, and I hope it will be so this year, so that people can actually just enjoy the day without thinking about charity, yet the end result will be a fat donation to a worthwhile cause.
