Link to VCC diary and stuff:- you will probably need to track down and contact a local club member to get more details tho:

Local groups up and down the country of varying levels of active participation.
They know bike history though.

Can't believe people are actually buying bikes especially for the ride. Madness.
Still need to arrange some tweed for myself, or I might just moleskin it up again... -

How exactly is the event going to be limited to 400? You can't stop people cycling on public streets. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this 400 only rubbish was to satisfy the authorities. I didn't get a place due to being at work, but I'll be there.
Actually harry, 400 is not a rubbish number. It's a number that we based all the marshal requirements and event planning on. Part of the aim of the Tweed Run this year - is to prove that it can be done well and without the use of closed roads, police etc., we've worked really hard with the buroughs involved to make an event that will work and will prove that it's not necessary to close roads, freak out, arrest people etc., SO it would be a REAL shame if anyone here just decided to ruin our hard work and sabotage the event - playing into the fears of the councils and police - which would ultimately lead to it being EVEN harder to have our brand of fun in the city...
DO YOU REALLY want to live in a city like NYC was a few years ago??? I think not, at least not if you actually love cycling.

It would be really interesting to hear what obstacles and 'problems' were quoted at you. I'll ask you about it on Sunday.

Yay for the tweed run. Any excuse to wear my tweed outfit again....
I need some new shoes though. The ones I have are MEGA painful for some reason
Teddy and Jacqueline, thank you so much for organizing the Tweed run. It is keeping me busy gathering a nice tweed costume, looking for an appropriate bike and planning my trip to London.
I just want to say I am sooooooooooooo exited !
