  • Done with branwen

  • Dmitri and moomoo were here before
    chapeau as moomoo was fixed

  • And me, friday and sasmon beat them all! 5 52 ride time, 6 22 with stops and punctures. Epic. David is in the queue for the fry up and we're on the bench next to the dulwich lot.

  • That's quick as. We managed around seven and a half, stops included. Chilling on the beach near vs bike.

  • I failed I tried to get to Ipswic, and have literally died on my bike at saxmundam total extra distance 12 miles, I couldn't do anything. Was just Turing the pedals as if through jelly. Train it is then!
Knackered and my legs are spawning and cramping. Stupid.

  • Just saw scott and tricity go past.
Fucking good work youtwo crazy kids

  • Congrats everybody. We can wait till your rested for the stories.

  • This souns epic! well done everyone! and well done VB for organising and TSK for the supporting (and entertaining posts). im in next year (too early?)

  • Yeh respect to all involved - didnt fancy it due to and extended Fri / Sat session, and had an early night hence early Sunday lurking on here!!

    Bet that sea was freezing

  • Done, and already back home in London :o) Met VB somewhere around mile 30 riding the same pace I was, so thanks for riding with me most of the way, and for your big fuck off front light!

There were a LOT of people coming in at around 6 as I rode back off the beach and back to my car at Darsham, 1250 would not be an far off as an estimate...

  • still sitting at the beach. did it in 8.21. now waiting for the better half to get here and go to the pub.

  • That seemed to hurt more than i thought it would. Apologies for the massively loud farts. I blame the sugary food. Missing the feed station was a bit bleak. The tea tent at four was amazing. As was laughing at the tandem couple. Not fun was overtaking that fucking tricycle three times. Thanks to marco matt wools and nick for the majority of that ride. Massive apologies to pascal for being a bit shit shooting off and still finishing behind him.

  • I'm poping along for a beer and bid people a safe journey.

As i need an excuse to go for a drive somewhere.

    Weirdo

  • Just saw scott and tricity go past.
Fucking good work youtwo crazy kids

On the a12? About 7mph? That would've been us.

We are home, though I'm not quite sure how.

  • no as you went through Saxmundham- or whatever that place is called

Did you cycle all the way back?
    Mentalists.

    I'm fucked.

also currently going commando is the best feeling ever after the bib shorts.
    ahhhhhhh

  • I would love to claim we'd ridden home and got back by 12pm after leaving Dunwich after 7... but no, we got the train from Ipswich. We would've been heading Ipswichwards on the bit of the A12 that goes through Saxmundham when you saw us.

  • I was sitting really dejected outside a cornershop.
really dejected, I had to buy the new scientist to enthuse me.
    ahh well.
there's always next year, when i'll do some training!

  • Well done to everyone. Sounds a superb ride. So superb that I'm going to put my name down for next year.

  • Great ride it was really surreal just following and endless stream of blinking red lights mist of the way!

Sitting on the southwark coach back now after a snooze on the beach and a pretty crap excuse for a burger. Where was the bun ffs?!

  • Was a beautiful night, bar a few dark moments in the early hours (why am I here, I could be in bed right now etc) and having to ride the extra 30 miles back to Norwich. Got to Dunwich at 5.15am, fixed. Rode Shirley the Surly all night long. Hurts.

Nice to meet a few people inc. German dude with Garmin who got us through the last few miles in one piece (sorry mate, didn't catch your name).

  • A big thanks to the forum member who hooked me up with some sort of isotonic supplement for my water at the rest spot. I don't know if it was laced with PCP or what but afterward I was like Ben Johnson in his prime.

    Thanks dude!

  • Awesome ride! Hope the dude I passed at about 1am lying pretty bashed up in the road wasn't too badly hurt (loads of people helping so I didn't stop). Rode to Ipswich and train (lucky to get bike in) back to LMNH for a pie and a beer. Feel much better this year on gears than I did last year fixed. Win all round.

  • What a night!
Started at 8:30 with most of LFGSS crew, but got separated in first 5 miles or so. It was just me and Marisa (mo_mo). Tried to keep steady, fast-ish pace to make it to the feed station before it gets berserk. Then Marisa lost one of her contact lenses and couldn't really see properly, but still was going strong. When we got to the feed station the queue was only 10 people deep. When we left it was out of the door and into the dark. The rest of the journey wasn't very eventful, just trying to find our way and avoiding roadkill and other objects, like shit on the road. We got to the beach at about 4:30. Epic night. Thank you Andrew (Seldom Killer), David (VB) and Marisa (I still owe you ££).

  • After leaving later than we were going to at about 8:55 Bendix and I arrived at Dunwich at 5:3O...after somehow taking a couple of wrong turns and finding our way back on route.
We then rode the 3O miles to Ipswitch to get the train...very slowly.

For some reason I decided i didn't want to sit behind the crowds who had left earlier and so I set a stupid pace, catching people at Epping who had left a good 4O minutes before us.
We then proceeded to pass a LOT of people for the next 3O miles until i realised i had almost destroyed my legs and began to cramp. Setting a fast pace on fixed while riding with someone on gears/freewheel wasn't my best idea as the downhills are hard on the muscles.

We had to stop a few minutes for me to stretch my legs out properly.
The cramping kept coming and going for the whole ride then but i tried my best to ride through it.

After the fast first 4O miles we had a pretty slow mid section thanks to me. Bendix would have finished much faster had she not been riding with me. My lack of miles and a lot of personal stress these past few busy months really showed. I was struggling both mentally and physically.
For personal reasons i knew this was going to be a hard ride for me mentally this year and i wasn't wrong.
This will be my last Dynamo...it became a special ride to me and it just won't be the same for me anymore.

Well done to ALL who completed it.
