Amazed I can't find any proper photos of it anywhere, will be @ the garage tomorrow and will take the camera. Resillion brakes, near impossible to find parts for the tandem brakes! Coming to a stop does require pre planing!

Had posted in another thread, more appropriate here...
"Hi all,
I suppose I can consider this like the "tandem" general thread on the forum?
So this was bought last year with the intention of doing the tweed run with it, but Chris (Serk) and I did not get tickets... So the the refurb process was extended on over a year now. The tandem is now ready, for this year's tweed run, and I will be riding it with my friend Okan.
Original state when bought:

veLLo: How did you go with the rear bb and crankset? Ive got an old CB tandem but couldnt find a crankset to suit (double/tandem cotterpin) and the bb length was so much longer than conventional cotterpin bb

Very tempting: local to me and with plenty of pedigree, but I think it would be too much of a beast for a beginner...

is that for children or real people

Have you checked the link? Google Ben Mickleburgh.

Do it. If I didn't already have Big Yellow on the go, I'd probably bid on it myself.

Here's mine.
It's a Late '70's/Early '80's Pashley Ladyback Tandem.

Anyone shed any light on this?
http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/cougar-tandem-bike-200ono/1027644685
Google brings up little on Cougar Tandems (unless it's a Terry Dolan but I doubt it!). I'm guessing it's a bit of a BSO but don't know if it's worth it anyway as I've been after one for a while.

To revive the thread, here's our tandem on her test ride after being built up - hilarious it was too. Now to find a reasonably priced 40h (ish) 26in rim brake wheelset, which seems difficult.

Now to find a reasonably priced 40h (ish) 26in rim brake wheelset, which seems difficult.
Rims are easy, SJSC have 40h 26" Sputniks for £18 each, combine that with a Shimano XT 40h front hub. What's the OLN at the back? 40h rears are rare (now - in the olden days, 32f/40r was the norm for solos), might be better going for 48h
@chephri: totally amazing! those brakes? any chance of some medium pictures?
