Does anyone here have a tandem roof rack? If so, which did you go for and why?

Wee man now has long enough legs for the Thorn. He freaking loves it!

I'm about to / want to buy "kiddy cranks" from sjs cycles for our tandem. Anyone has experience with this, recommendation on age (our son is 3 1/2). I'll need to tweak something for the reach of his handlebars too.
@R.Hobbs is this something you're familiar with? -

I don't have it any more but I once made one out of wood. Took about an hour, following instructions on the Tandem Club site. Was pretty easy to make. Just needed to turn the bars, then strap it to the wooden frame, then I could lever it onto the car roof bars on my own (wife couldn't lift).
Had a quick look at the site but can't find it now. Might be in members area, or else long disappeared. It was broadly similar to the Helton one, with one or two tweaks.

Any advice on pedals / straps for kids?
My kids feet keep coming off the flat pedals, so I'd like to get them locked in if possible.

Cinelli straps are good!

I really need to get my finger out, not ridden our tandem in a while;
Kiddo is 3 in 2 weeks, I reckon its got to be time to get her on a new style seat and soon pedalling.
Shes been doing amazing on the shotgun seat, so maybe I will pull it out tomorrow.
Reckon it needs a set of Kyote bars too

Interesting...!
Mine is getting on for 3 1/2, but hasn't shown a load of interest in her balance bike yet. I've got a long term plan (that I've not mentioned to my wife yet) to get a tandem for her to ride with me on, but I had assumed she was still way too young. But maybe a tandem would make it more interesting for her...

Thorn sell these frame only or as full bikes!
She’s 3 in 2 weeks so probably getting near to pedalling, her pedal bike is just being built as we speak.

Well, I suppose that's identical enough to 'identical'. :)
