  • Reading back through this thread, i think it is really important for anyone who is thinking about the going to the Worlds in Berlin, even if you are not in a team, should register interest on Kev's mini questionnaire

    takes 30 seconds.

this could impact on how many londoners can play

  • It's looking like Im going to struggle to try and organise this all, is anyone willing to take over main organisation of this? I can still help, I'm just really really busy at the moment and also not around much before april 11th.

I've done all the brackets (but need to update due to one team not being able to play) and I will do a schedule of all the games. I could just do with some help on bits and pieces, like putting up signs at the courts, boards over entrances, sweeping, and securing the courts on the morning of.

    Anyone willing to help?

    please.

  • Gabes you can count on me on the morning of.

  • I will give you a hand too

Happy to help if I can.

  • thanks guys.

we have a list of people doing some things already.

My biggest problem is sorting out whether or not we do this as a sanctioned event with insurance. I just don't have time to do this now. Thoughts?

AFAIK, the LHBPA has no objections to its insurance being used. Sanctioned means we have to book the courts with the council, no? Is there still time to do that?

  • talking to roxy, they are REALLY slow to confirm bookings. So not likely

As for using LHBPA insurance, it will cost, as I believe the insurance requires a top up per event.

  • Insurance = pitch rental (unless we can work out a deal with them) + insurance costs.

  • Yeah. What Gabes said.

  • i think no worries on insurance.

  • as in we don't need it?

I don't think we need it. we didn't have it last year.

Last year, we just did it guerilla style, didn't we? I honestly don't know, but I think it wasn't 'sanctioned'.

+1 here. No different to a league game. You might want to get people to sign waivers, but...

maybe post a question on the LPC?

  • So, I've done the Round Robin schedule for the day, starting at 10am, we finish at 16:40ish.

10 minute games, with Draws, 2 minutes to switch over.

    Spreadsheet, with game times...

  • good work gabes.... looks like we're gonna need a tight ship.

  • yes, we need a good couple of whips to get people ready for the next game.

  • Im totally down for whipping/reffing/general dogsbody for the day Gabes seeing as im not playing.

  • cool, thanks tom.

  • gabes, a few schedules printed out and stuck up court side should help a little. I can print here A3. 8 copies. I'll wait closer to the time before i do this.

  • I can print/laminate A3 if need be.

  • Oh man how exciting!

    Nice work, Gabes.

    London for the win!

  • Good work my man.
    Gonna be a hard day.
I think last year i went to bed as soon as i got home.
    Good luck everyone.
