I did my open-bindivers course when I was travelling in Thailand in '98. I started the advanced and deep bindivers courses with a view to eventually becoming a bindivemaster and staying out there forever. But I never completed the course (ran out of money, had to come home and get a job). I've never been bindiving since. Shame really. *sigh.

Friends of mine used to go skipping around Hackney years ago, and back then you could get loads of skipped stuff really quickly. I remember great meals made from throwaways, but I never skipped and I don't know anyone who does it any more. From memory, you had to keep fairly up-to-date on locations and I also heard some reports of occasional conflicts between different groups who were out skipping.
I have to admit that I don't like the word 'freegan' very much. That it was free was the last reason why my friends went skipping. It'd be interesting to see if any of them have kept it up, but I doubt it.
