The thing with the strand bit is that it seems to actually attract tourists to it. Most of the time I see Italian families of 4 pause there to try and unfold a map. I've also seen people wait there thinking it's a ped crossing. It's quite funny

some people just shouldnt be allowed to drive anything other than a dodgem. I had someone in a 4x4 nearly run me down while i was half way across his lane on a ped crossing, and called me a wanker in the process.

That stretch of road (off the strand via the cyclepath and up towards Covt Garden) seems to encourage bad driving. I think because it's a dead end (for cars), taxis coming out of that junction on the right don't think they have to look left to see if anythings coming.
