Ha ha, don't think we'll ever agree on bars Ricky. They're 3TTT Moser pantographed hour record pursuit bars. Francesco Moser, 51.151km in an hour, before the flying scotsman got involved of course. Fair to say neither of them had bar end shifters though.

Definitely. Bid tentatively on some Shamal tubs at one point too. Sort of wish I'd manned up and gone for it.

Put pursuit bars on, not as good as I remember them. Need to fine tune my position.

Right, this sounds ridiculous but, what would you say about me using my velodrome bike for comuting?
Obv change my wheelset from a disc/tri to some deep vs?
-
• #307
whats your velodrome bike?
-
• #308
Erm... Full carbon planet x. My grandad sold me it and I don't want to get rid of it/leave it collecting dust. I don't have a clue about which frame it is, it's fast, light, really aerodynamic, it's running pursuit bars, ritchey stem, carbon aero seatpost, the brake fitting is like behind the bottom bracket...
That's all I know.

Not yet, I'm picking it up from his garage next week but I'll upload one asap. I'll look like a tool on it, I'm just wondering weather it'll be sort of, decent.
May order a wheelset off varno and run them on it.
I'm on the phone now, asking what frame type and I'll find a link :)

That's all I know so far.. I'll keep asking about it. Plus can I strip the paint work on a carbon bike as it's been sprayed black I think and I want a carbon look to it

If your fast go for it.

Right, this sounds ridiculous but, what would you say about me using my (Grandad's former) velodrome bike for commuting? (ftfy)
Obv change my wheelset from a disc/tri to some deep vs?
- "So Grandson, would you like this Ferrari/Ducati/Crabon trackbike* for real cheap?"
"Fucken hell yeah, Grandad*"
*Delete as appropriate
** Rips arm off at shoulder 'cos didn't have to wait 'till he died or nuthin'
Is this just my sense of humour, or was ev'ryone else thinkin' this too?

For curiosities sake why did your Grandad have a full on race bike?
Can't imagine it being too comfortable on the roads either and plus risking it with all potholes, glass, scallies. -
• #315
i dnt know, he has alot of bikes. he never raced or anthing, think he just gave up masturbating and started building up bikes. i'm not really complaining tbh.

can we have a rule that people have to post up their name + face to this thread before contributing elsewhere on newcastle based threads?
loadsa new profiles, but no clue who any of them are.
-
• #324
was thinking something similar, maybe a bit harsh making it a rule tho.
might just sticky and rename this thread.

and so is this just for friends of fixie riders of newcastle?
Matt, that looks lovely but I have to ask....WTF's going on with those bars ?
