Just thought that some of you would like to know that I have managed to track down the owner of the Camcorder that I found just before Lindfield.
I posted up on the CTC forum, as suggested, but got no results.
My next attack was to to go through all of the photos and movies to find a clue. There were movies on there from the day that I found it, depicting, presumably, the owner's family visiting a rather grand looking house and gardens. Remembering that we were pretty near Wakehurst Place, I googled it and checked the pictures. Yep, that's where they'd been.
I called up the rangers there and a camcorder had been reported lost that day, with a description that matched. The owner will get in touch with me to arrange getting it back.
I think he probably left it on the roof of his car and then drove off, smashing the screen as it fell down.
I feel very pleased, in a boy scout kind of way.
(I'd better quickly delete all of the home made solo-porn I have taped on it)

Nice one mashton.
I hope you at least thieved the sd card though ;-)
I bet they were well chuffed to get their camera back.

I checked, you can get 24Gb SD cards for like £20.
Amazing.
We'l have a terrabyte on SD for under £50 soon.

Many cards... many many cards.
There's a physical maximum density of transistors that will prevent 1TB SD cards or achieving that with few cards.

Excellent work, mashton, I love that scout-ish feeling!
But... this thread is useless without pics: can we see the porn?
ps. I forgot that I found 4 tentpegs which were forgotten from the campsite. they are all the same and ended round, I do believe they are from Fred's tent as he was camping there.
I also found two other, standard ones, so if you miss some pegs, let me know. -

Fred's pegs had a kind of circle on the top of them to make them easy to pull out of the ground. Is that the sort that you found?
@VB - I've been waiting for us to hit the quantum limit for ten years now, it never seems to happen. Good old Mr Moore just keeps on giving.

They cheat nowadays with multiple cores, hyper-threading, etc. None of which helps SD cards, which have a physical limit of 32GB. There is hope that they can use sector addressing to push beyond this, but it's currently only theorhetical.

](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ward_Cunningham)[Ward Cunningham](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ward_Cunningham), the developer of the first wiki software, WikiWikiWeb, originally described it as "the simplest online database that could possibly work."[4] "Wiki" (pronounced [ˈwiki] or [ˈviki]) is a Hawaiian word for "fast".[5] "Wiki" has been backronymed by some to "What I Know Is".[6]
The wiki prefix actually does have a Hawaii connection. So there you go.

That was supposed to read: The wiki prefix actually does have an Hawaiian connection.
But the forum did it's magic with wiki links.

mashton went on a mission to get booze delivered to the campsite at about 19:30. he found a local place called 'booze brothers' who would do it but did not start to deliver until 22:30!

I missed out on this unfortunately, but some friends have a spare pitch there this weekend so I'm heading down! I don't spose anyone's knows the route you used or even has a .gpx of the route? No worries if not, I'll roughly follow the usual L2B route and turn left before the beacon!

I used [ame="http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Brighton-Route-used-on-LFGSS-Brighton-overnight-rides-2009"]this
%22%5Dthis route [/ame]but at Wivesfield green followed hundred acre lane (great name) towards Streat.
if you're riding it in the dark you need very good lights though, front and rear.

I'd be up for this if anyone fancies another soon/over summer.
Sparky asked me the day before this one so I really didn't have the funds :(
-

Nice one, Spencer, get involved. Also, have you seen that I'm doing a mini-tour next weekend? Very cheap, very cheerful. Offer is extended to anyone, by the way....
