.. How many others are doing this ride on a brakeless track bike? Will be my first long ride on the Cannondale as well!
Max, since you're taking minimal equipment and even less sustenance, I suggest; remove seat post, feed-in string of sausages, re-insert post. Old audax trick.

Ha!! Nice.
No, I will be filling my bag up with as much stuff as it can fit. And putting a water bottle on my frame so should all be good.

Not wrong there, son. You're carrying the tent.

• #405
Is it heavy?
-
• #406
Not as heavy as the BBQ Bike itself, its a tank to say the least! Fully loaded, i'm guessing it will be somewhere around the 75-80lb mark....

Emundro's bus with wheels...
You want me to drag it out of the barn?

If you drag it out the barn, you can take my BBQ bike home, and I will take the bus. You are also welcome to collect he MK3 Golf from my house, and remove anything else you like in exchange for the bus!

OK...i was expecting maybe a handful of people to change their minds and drop out of this, but TWELVE?...so far?
If anyone else is even considering dropping out, whether it's because they're ''going out on friday night'' or ''it looks like rain'' or they've ''arranged to do something better'' can you please make up your mind and tell us immediately so that we can explain to the campsite and maybe give them a chance to fill the spaces before the weekend.
Cheers! -

Yesterday i trod on a rusty nail. It hurts like fuck.
Weirdly I find cycling not nearly as painful as walking.
So I think I'm still in.

I've got a torn tendon in my shoulder, I'm still in.

Just for info: PHD are having a winter sale which starts this Saturday, but I just emailed them to find out what time it will go live as I told them I wanted to get a sleeping bag but I was going on a camping trip leaving at 8am on Saturday and they said I could order one today at the sale price to have it in time for the weekend. So if anyone was considering getting a new sleeping bag but hasn't got round to it, it might be worth asking nicely. Here's the sale page: http://www.phdesigns.co.uk/special-offers.php?cat=79

I did it yesterday with Aimka. Was a nice ride, but before we made it to Brighton my those where frozen stiff.
I'm still in, but this time will take two bottles of whiskey with me.

Bendix and i have ridden part of the way there a few weeks ago in the freezing cold and then both crashed hard on a sheet ice corner forcing us to cut it short and causing me some serious hip and shoulder pain for the next week...then ridden all the way to the campsite 2 weekends ago and continued on to Brighton...then got the train to Brighton yesterday and rode all the way back again via the campsite.
...and we're still in!

Haha, we were there the same day. Shame we did not meet, take some food and have pre-camping together.
Guys and dolls: windstopper is a must. and warm socks/shoes. and double gloves.

it is not really that weird is it? you are sitting on a saddle afterall...
sorry to hear you hurt foot. hope you can still make it uncle ben.

• #423
Yeah but cycling uses your feet to like turn the like pedals like. Where the nail went into my foot and made it bleed like fuck.
All I was saying is I'm glad that I can cycle OK, I put it down to my sidis having rigid soles.

before we made it to Brighton **my those where frozen stiff. **
Is it any boy-ish euphemism for balls or so? I am confused...
-

Yes, It is. I though that everyone knows that.
Can anyone suggest any low-volume, low-mass foodstuffs which could be suitably carried for said bar-b-q. I guess spuds are out but, maybe cream crackers, the folding variety? Anyone had success with Angel Delight?
