What's happened to the forum?? It looks ace!
-
• #103
Well that's a bit rude.

Sorry, it looked ace before. It looks acer now... :)

• #105
More like it ;)

Looks shite on a Blackberry now. But analytics tells me that there aren't many of us.
It will change again when I get my Android though, so be warned.

So what the happy-hap, VB? Who responsible this?

Well credit should go to Mashton for lending me an iPod Touch. Without that I wouldn't have done anything as I don't own a Mac and had no way to see what the hell the site looked like. Borrowing his iPod Touch allow me to work on it.
I have to give it back sometime, so if people imply they're happy and that everything works it won't be tweaked or touched once I return the iPod. I remain open to being given an iPhone should people want me to maintain the theme for it long term, which is why it's likely to go more Android-ish over time... I'll own one of those and will know what the hell it all looks like.

Oh, and you have to sign in to get the session related stuff like "Today's posts", etc.
Posts are in blue, unless you are the author in which case they're yellow.
Not sure there's more to it than that. Let me know if anything is now broken.

Is there any way you could add dates to the posts? Or have it like on the 'real' forum with how many minutes/hours ago it was posted?

Looks good. Another vote for android led development from me :)

Yup, will look into it a bit later.
I also notice that in long threads there isn't a "Jump to last page" option currently. So I'll look into that too.

Could you add a link to subscribed threads to the menu dropdown? I think I'd find that more useful than a link to my own posts. Cheers.

+1 on date. No way of telling the dates of posts is a bit if a danger. Is there an option to switch to normal browsing too? Don't mean to appear ungrateful because it looks and works really well, but it's nice to have the options, innit.

You mean where it says something like 'Page 1 of 21'? There's a 'next' and 'last' button already there.
Sorry, don't mean to be annoying. Is there any way that when you go back into a thread you go to the last page (if that's where you left off)? If that makes sense... Only other thing that I'd find useful would be to have a little bit more info on the forums/threads like who posted last and when. But then it won't look so 'clean'...

Props on the new mobile layout, looks sweet!

Love it, although I really liked having the whole forum for a bit this morning, so might just have that from now on.
Would be perfect if there were dates or how long ago something was payed like the normal forum.

I've missed all this- does this mean that there is a way for my iPhone to display the forum in a specific manner?
If so how do I do it?

hey the site looks better from this handset, although I had previously been a sucker for refreshing the new posts button to see what were the live threads.you can always go online from a desktop and contribute to long termers, but for me the prime reason for a mobile thing is to keep up with whats going on in general, and to be able to join in when something is really going off, like homeopathy.....

Forum blocked at work=80% of my time spent on the forum is via iPhone

turn on the mobile viewing in your control panel settings (on your forum account), all will be revealed

+1 to mf. Plus I like to keep on top of popcorn-worthy threads when I'm in 'meat-in-the-room' meetings.

New Posts is there... login and use the menu in the top right... two taps and you'll be fine.
Where is it? :(
