beetroot is truly great. Only downside is that worrying feeling when it comes out the other end and you think you must have internal bleeding. Until you remember you had eaten beetroot!

Beetroot and h are both great... Preferably together.
sounds like two people introduced at west drinks... This is beetroot, real name kevin and this is mark, or h for short.
Of course early beetroot was prepared by evil people so everyone thought it was crap, but modern beetroot is much better, although still a bit crap... But I like most things and will try most things so I'm going to say beetroot is good as I've not had any recent negative experiences...
The fact is though that most people here are able to cook their own beetroot so why they should care about people who can't cook beetroot and then sell it on is beyond me...
In summary enjoy the beetroot you've got.

So we can be confident that people who know nothing about bikes, and have never ridden a fixed/singlespeed before, like Foffas. Well, if you put me on a £50 supermarket BMX, I'd tell you it was the best BMX I've ever ridden, the only difference being that I know enough about bikes in general to realise how shit it is. Foffa's satisfied customers are on their first grown-up bike, or maybe have upgraded to a Foffa from a BSO, so they're bound to be happy - they don't know any better.
I was just playing Devil's advocaat really. And trying to be open minded about the whole thing.
Like, just because someone isn't part of a fixie skidder online forum, doesn't mean they know shit all about bikes - lot of people have a good road bike and a want a cheap fixie for fucking about on. And just because someone is part of one, doesn't mean they do either. So someone who got a free bike is to be eyed with suspicion..? Who says some of the nay-sayers aren't doing it because they're in bed with opposition bike shops. How the fuck do I know if that is or isn't true? So unless you're people I know (a small number on the forum), you're all just pixels on a screen to me and I'll treat you all with equal respect/suspicion.
At the end of the day though, I just think this is a fairly pointless argument to be having, because nobody who is a known face has tried one of these bikes. Which is what it's all about as far as I'm concerned - the bike and how it rides. So I'll duck out of this thread now until my curiosity about their bikes gets the better of me and I try one out.

So has anyone (except harry, who works in another bike shop which surely makes him just as suspisious as the posting only about foffa's and possibly bribed) had anything bad to say about their foffa bike?
Is this a thread where basically the only 2 people who have experienced the bikes recently (wicksie and harry) are instantly discountable whilst everyone else is talking about something they've actually not tried?!
i work in a workshop that doesn't sell bikes, we just service and fix them, therefore i have no competative interest in critisizing foffa bikes; cheap bikes that get people cycling are fucking awesome but if they're of such low component and build quality that they become dangrous for inexperienced cyclists who, more often than not, will not realise they're dangerous, then it's fucking dangerous and people deserve to know about it.
anyway, we've had a few foffas in in the past couple of months & they've all had dangerously sub-standard components on. on one, a poor quality brake lever broke because it was pulled quite hard (i'm sure brake levers should be up to being pulled quite hard). the wheels were undertensioned stock wheels that had not been trued when put onto the bike/were such low quality they went quickly out of true. the mechanical quality of the build is rubbish and probably contravening various british laws on how tight compenents have to be on a bike when it is sold complete.
basically, people have been bringing them to us because either they're too scared to ride them over the river to get dani to service them or, however much dani repeats it on this forum, he's not actually telling his customers in person that he offers a 12 month warrenty.
i'm sure the prima frames are great though. because foffa didn't make them themselves. it's the mechanical ability and component quality i have a problem with.
anyway, dani's invited me up for a coffee which i have yet to take him up on. i probably will in the next couple of weeks, and will try to avoid falling for his charm as, by the looks of things, this seems to happen to most people who have met him.

I wouldn't trust his coffee, it's probably a coffee flavoured drink rather than actual coffee.
I haven't tried heroine yet.
