me and andy found a neat little speedo thing on the number 2 route back from the maypole.
tells you how fast your going allong the road, over 30 and asks you to slow down.

clocked it today at 32
andy got 28

should go back there with a group of people
highest speed gets a pint or 2!

if anyone cycles past it nd clocks more than 32 let me know so io can try beat you!

i got up to 37mph down wetheroak hill on my 46x17 - it's all about timing as it's damn hard to stay pedalling that fast for anything more than a few seconds.

just to let you all know it is a up hill start then a few hundred yards flat before the camera thingy.

im gunna change my gear back down to 50 x 15/16 beofre i try it again so i can reach better speeds.

i couldn't get up to that speed on the flat - need to sit down to get anywhere near the rpms...

was a good ride, went around for a bit then to town and the canalside bar for a pint.
then a stupidly fast dart home because of the freeezing conditions

all in all a good ride
will keep people posted if were goin out again.

i'm gonna head out this afternoon, trying out the new garmin with a 45 mile ride southwest around clent (i think).

leaving around 2-3pm. average speed around 15mph (ie slow by roadie standards, brisk by fixhipster standards)
