Oh, and while i'm here...
i've just enrolled in a motorcycle mechanics course. It's basic, but as i can just about change a spark plug it should be about my level, at merton college. It's down by wimbledon - i didn't know either - and they have what looks like an amazing training garage / facility. 1 night a week for 10 weeks on a mon or tues and it costs 200 quid. I figure it will save me that in garage costs easilly but i'm only really doing it out of interest. Check out merton or 'south thames college' or whatever the hell they've rebranded as for more details.

I can be wrong, but after a quick search it seems that people have not mentionned Voxan, french manufacturer (very few on the roads) since the 90s I think, they when into liquidation recently and have been bought by Venturi (just read that online)... don't know if they have a future or not.... I remember looking at their website when it was still fully on, I thought some designs were a bit odd sometimes but some were nice though...

Are voxan not the ones about to launch that vr6 engined bike? Think they are a pretty small setup. Can't say i've ever actually seen one. Actually i think that vr6 might be horex or something like that and not voxan. Either way i'm not convinced by that ^ bit too 'bitty' for me.

Bike finally came out of hibernation this weekend, for a lovely relaxed jaunt down to the Cotswolds. Sunshine and dry roads, awesome.
I just had to buy a new battery on ebay though. A winter of sitting in the garage killed the old one, even my decent optimate charger gave up eventually.
I've bought an AGM type battery (Absorbtion Glass Matt, apparently), anyone know anything about them? -

do any of you cats have a spare battery that you are willing to part with for a pint?

You'll be lucky as batteries are so expensive? Also they don't last long in a bike.

My new battery is bright yellow, it looks like a massive bit of lego.

This is my 1965 Lambretta series 3 Li125 with Mugello 186 kit, 25mm PHBH Dellorto carb, Ram air filter and Ancillotti Clubman exhaust. It will sit at 65mph all day long and tops out at about 75mph. I've been all over on this.
Lovely that like. Ive just bought a 1963 Li 125 myself mate and want to do a similar conversion to the one you describe. Any advice before I start? A lot of people are saying the RB kit is better than the muggy.
I would plan to do all of the work myself, I'll make a new aluminium seatpan and a low profile seat kind of like this
Trim the rear mudguard in and maybe go for a sort of old-school chopper style side mounted numberplate and stoplight. Then repaint the tank. Clip on bars and slightly lowered headlight (Ideally an old headlight with integrated speedo or else a digital speedo built into the a flat fork crown). Trim down the front mudguard and paint to match the tank and some fat tyres. It'll be a bit of a mismatch in style really, cafe racer/ brat/ Jap bobber.
This is a big inspiration actually, love the colour too.
Don't think I'll go for a fairing as I'd imagine I may drop it a bit being my first bike but if I do go for one I'll probably go for these guys GFTP.
I'm rather excited.
