You have to tension the cable a bit. Is the clutch engaging when you pull the lever?
-
• #7453
Yeah, very much so. Lot nicer place to ride.
-
• #7454
ha! I've been exactly the same the past couple of weeks - fair weather motorcyclists - where were you in the middle of Wintahhhhhhh????!!!
-
• #7455
Yeah I'll have a go later, hopefully that's all it is but it started playing up after the lever got bashed
-
• #7456
Yeah did seem to be a bit

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to go to buy a reasonably priced pair of gloves in London (with motorbike parking) ?
Cheers.

Urban Rider in Fulham. Park in the street at the back of the shop.

Or if you're more east, worth a trip down to Bikeshed.cc in Old Street / Kingsland Road. They seem to sell most of the same sort of stuff as Urban Rider.

Cheers. Central, North and East are all good for me. So bikeshed sounds like a plan.

Motoden are great as well.

I have the Rev'it Neptune stuff:
sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycÂle_parts/content_prod/205391
sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycÂle_parts/content_prod/205443Really versatile and pretty much 100% waterproof (i had a minor seam leek on the way down to France, about 10 hours into continuous downpours). The vents make them perfectly wearable in the summer too.>
for that jacket money though

I hear nothing but good things about Rukka

Looks like a great deal. The Neptune one was the best reviewed at the price i paid when i bought it last September.

• #7468

Bolt London near Lindon fields might be worth a look if you're over that way

Any good reliable (and reasonably priced) place in London to get my tank re lined?
Something that will last longer than me preferably? -
• #7471
Refitted the clutch cable, it came with a barrel nut that screws on to the cable with a Philips screw driver. Just pops straight off once it's under tension though. What am I missing? Does it need soldering on?
-
• #7472
Sorry if this is teaching you to suck eggs but do you need to hold the barrel in a spanner while you tighten the screw?
-
• #7473
No worries mate it's all new to me. Yeah did that it still dropped out, was gonna have a go with holding it with some pliers, is the screw nut enough to hold it in normally then? Cheers
-
• #7474
Haven't used them on motorbikes but it's enough on bicycle stuff. I have brakes that use them and so long as you horse it up it hold so should be ok on a clutch.

This was my concern, apparently it's strong enough for a Vespa but I did wonder about a proper clutch. It's the physics, ask MDCC Tester for a thorough answer.
Where is the adjuster at one end or both ends?
The lever is pulled back by the clutch springs. My guess is badly adjusted.
