On the subject of loud exhausts, this beast on my chop pretty much requires ear defenders if you want to stand around it when idling - need to put a proper can on it as it fucks the fuelling though, 2 ft flames coming out of it dont seem so cool when your filtering!

Riiiight. Not getting where you put it and how it works? Gearing change?
-
• #679
Basically quickens up the gearing and improves acceleration/throttle response

Nowt serious. Badly bent bars, few scratches, scuffed leathers and dignity. Luckily paid the £40 odd for breakdown cover. Would've been an expensive evening otherwise.

malaysian hope all feels better soon.
did you pay extra to get your helmet and leathers on the insurance also? -
• #682
Not too bad then. Last time I did that I "customised" my nearly new Givi's all down one side. Chicks dig scars...

All is fine, a few bruises is all. Just annoyed really, I should've got the train this morning... bike just needs a bit of a tinker and some new bars. No my leathers and helmet were both fairly inexpensive and leathers will live to fight another day. as you say, chicks dig scars...?

Dunno if any of you guys are interested, but my brother's a bit of a scooter freak and does a lot of fabrication and mechanical work, repairs, painting, etc.
He's restored/customized a Vespa ET3 smallframe a couple of times:

And recently rode one coast to coast across the U.S. - excuse the spelling and prolific smiley usage. ;)

He gave up the blogging in the end but he did make it all the way to California...

I have an ET3 that needs to look that nice. -

Well he's working at Project 13 scooters down in Bow at the moment (formerly Kings Cross) doing exactly that sort of work. Will PM you his contact details if you like.

Love the Michelin wheels. Making me want a scooter.
I remember one summer at a pub I used to frequent seeing some racing scooters.
Not entirley sure what they were. Maybe these? TS1's? or even moded.
Looked beautiful anyway.

Love the Michelin wheels.
I helped him colour in the Michelin logos with a paint pen! It's a nice touch.

Cheers for that. Retrospective never got back to me, and Bow's much closer.

Guzzis always start from a button.
-
• #699
Actually, no. Guzzis are always* meant* to start from a button, but they are terribly italian about such matters.
