Clean again! fitted Evotech tail tidy - supposed to take 30 mins - try 3 hours - cutting wiring and re-crimping with bullet connectors not my idea of 30 mins

Agreed - no one caused Marquez to crash but Marquez though...all he had to do was roll off for a fraction of a second and cut back inside. Instead he turned in. Nuts.

Rossi is a pillock for admitting he ran Marquez wide, if he'd kept quiet it would just be a firm block pass end of story. Weird all round and a very disappointing spectacle.

I have been asked from a friend to remove an engine from a Suzuki 1100, I'm quite excited to go back to that after more than 20 years, tomorrow.

I'm wondering if it's like sex, that you never forget how to do it.

If it's a GSX1100 then I pity your spine. Pretty sure mine's never recovered from taking one out of an EFE on my own five years or so ago.

I will be the director but I'm not alone, and I will use tools of leverage for the final extraction.

Good plan, also often easier to put the engine on its side on the floor and lay the frame/bike down on top of it...

The engine is down. Tomorrow the rest, not sure how long it will take for him to paint the frame, find a few bits and clean everything to complete this cafè racer, BTW it has some nice forks.. Ducati.

Ahh that's an oil boiler, they're waaaay lighter than the earlier GSX motors! I've got a trick 1216 motor sat waiting for me to get my finger out and buy a GSXR750L to shoehorn it into. Due to Suzuki's refusal to ever redesign anything there's loads of bits you can do swapping components from other bikes/years.

Suzuki is shit. Ask to any Japanese person which is the worst car/motorbike manufacture in Japan and the answer will be that. I never liked Suzuki and when you work on it you see the cheapness of it. Honda and Yamaha and Ducati instead are the top end of the two wheels engined. But hey, if people still buy Moto Guzzi and Harley how can the remains understand about Suckzuki?

the last race is going to be exciting ...... rossi pumped up the most he's ever been and finishing 2nd to take the title

Yeah, I think he's going to struggle to get to 2nd from the back of the grid, he doesnt like Valencia. It will be interesting to see how Marquez reacts around him.

Hah I hear what you're saying (and the Blandit was definitely built to a price) but I've also got an old Triumph which had some far worse design choices made... Still got a soft spot for older Suzukis though, only using OEM components and getting 160 ish bhp at the wheel and more torque than you can shake a stick at isn't to be sniffed at.

Scrambler is no longer a model, but a separate model with an additional custom pack. Spendy? Does this mean I'll be able to buy a secondhand Scrambler cheap? Probably not.

The brat tracker one is pretty tidy. A very smart design/marketing move. It's exactly what the people who want custom but don't know how to do custom - and can't pay for custom - are after.
