My Velo was a nice looking thing, but that Minarelli 50cc engine was a piece of shite. It would have been great with a Piaggio 125.

Not that true, you just have to jump more hoops as they took away the offices and now it is all centralised. So depends on the mood. I am arguing with DVLA over failed SVA.

Not really, no. But thanks. That's very clean. Too clean for London, really. But I like. What do you think it'll go for, BQ?

Afternoon kids. Anyone got any experience in financing a motorbike? I was looking at the Triumph hire purchase thing but not sure whether a loan or hire purchase would be better.
EDIT - actually, looking at the financials against just getting a straight up loan, PCP seems kind of terrible. Looking at a £7000 bike, I can either:
a) PCP: pay a £500 deposit and £130 a month over three years, and at the end of it, owe around £4000
b) LOAN: pay £200 a month for three years, pay the whole thing off, and effectively have an investment of £4000 that I can sell if I want to
...Is that a fairly accurate summation of this type of thing, or am I missing something?

Save up, buy my Trumpet.

I'll even delay the selling of it to give you a chance...

Tbh mate if your Thruxton is still available then that makes the loan financials even better - I could own that bad boy within a few years. Gotta have a plan b though...

It was up for £2200 but I don't know if that was a bid or a buy it now: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vespa-100-Primavera-125-90-/301741495780?hash=item464131d5e4&nma=true&si=I9Qr5EhHIwO%252FXpgNAn801JtUgjo%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Still, 100s are slow. How about this lovely restored ET3 for a little more, still on Roman plates? OK, so you have to register it yourself but it has current and legit Italian papers.

Naughty. I'd LOVE to have a go on this.

Seat looks a bit uncomfortable.

Do Triumph ever offer 0%?
-
• #6440
Doesn't look like it - Triumph get their financing from a third party so there's not much in it for the third party to offer it. They also push the PCP option pretty hard if the website is anything to go by.

• #6441
yeah my finance was through Black Horse for my Street Triple from Triumph dealer
-
• #6442
Actually, remembering back to when I bought my Sportster, I fancied a Triumph too but they were utter cunts to deal with (not interested in taking trade in, not interested in giving me a test ride, just generally not interested) so went for the Harley instead.
Finance for my current KTM is through a 3rd party (Santander) and is 0%.

Nice! I've got a Cagiva Mito with a Yamaha RD derived motor in it that is something similar. Like riding fixed it can be a pain in the arse at times but on the right day on the right road there's nothing I'd rather be riding.

Nice! I had a Yamagamma years ago RG250 frame. Show us a pic!

Rad. No TC, screamer 500. Amazing how the body position of the riders has changed over the years.

Gratuitous burnout pic from a season I did hillclimbing in '08 I think:

Looking good. I feel a derivative of a YPVS lies somewhere in my future....so much cool development of that engine in the Banshee world.
Hill climbs scare the pants out of me - they're so short in the UK, by the time you're at the top your tyres might just about be warm enough to push on a bit. Ballsy - chapeau!

100 scooters are just as good as 125 IMO as you tweak both.

Sticky tyres...
There is a lovely time warp Vespa 100 on Ebay right now. Original UK one bought from Douglas Sales & Service. Even has the tool kit and spare spark plug.
