Nice cans.
I keep meaning to look into switching out the stock ones on my Triumph -

Did you get any fun extras?
This thing has literally every box ticked.
Adaptive ride height, adaptive cruise, blind spot monitoring, heated seats, electric windscreen, forged wheels (super sexy), alarm, tracker, fancy can, aluminium billet shiny bits and bobs.
I'm so poor right now.

electric windscreen
Does it go up and down? It was brilliant to have on the K1100LT. I'm not sure any BM has had it since.
-
• #25656
Yes. It remembers the position and then lowers when the bike is turned off.
-
• #25657
Awesome. I suppose it's a 25 grand bike. More than some of the Porsche 911s around here. What a world.

£25,630 was sticker. Still, I do about 8k miles a year so at least it's not just sat in the garage doing nothing.

Your green paint is very fine. But 2.5k? That would go a long way in a custom paint shop. When i daydream about a new GS i envision getting all the grey and black bits painted to match the tank.

yeah that is punchy. the paintwork on the Akira replica bike my clients just did for Bike Shed was 3.5k iirc

Who painted it
-
• #25662
Valkyrie Paintworks in Suffolk. Lots of glow-in-the-dark stuff, including radioactive goop spilling out of the battery box

I’m looking at getting some glow in the dark for a project I’m working on, can get so many nice colours and things now in paint it’s unreal!

The green looks pretty nice in the sun I will say.

The Tramuntana package is not just the paint. It adds:
- Green paint - unavailable separately
- Pillion package (larger rear pegs, rear heated seat, comfort rear seat) - £105
- Electric windscreen - £290
- Comfort rider seat (heated) - £155
- Centre stand - £155
- Gold spoked wheels - £470
- Billet pack (hand levers, expansion tank covers for the clutch and front wheel brake, rider footrest, gearswitch and footbrake levers, & ignition coil cover) - unavailable separately
That means it's roughly £1,200 for the paint and the aluminium billet shiny bits which is better value.

It's so good. You should come see it in person as you're so close. Looking for weekend riding buddies...
-
• #25667
Lovely finish. Is it done with lots of layers or special paint or what? These things are a mystery to me. But there should be more of them.

Yesssssss mate! That’s looking fucking great. Massive congrats. It’s big monies, but ain’t nobody got time riding stuff you don’t enjoy.
How’s the steering on it? I got deep into the tech of the steering system and the bar/front end assembly is proper cool engineering.

the bar/front end assembly
What's different about the bars? When I had the 1100 and 1150 GS I always had about 6 inches cut out of the middle for better filtering. R1100RS width. In my head I would do that to the 1300 which I'll only buy if I win Euromillions.

Front what I understand, they're not attached to the bike per se. They float. They're attached to a spherical bearing to move a little independently from the tele lever front end, but are braced so still stay rigid enough. It's clever shit.

Hossack suspension?
-
• #25673
Not sure, as far as I'm aware, the Hossack design is a bit different to the Telelever design.

It's wild to see how uneven the terrain is. Sublime riding skill.

There's pics of Davey Todd, elbow down. He's not messing around. Mad.
Nice interview with Michael Dunlop in here:
