It's a tuned DR350 engine so you know it will be mega reliable.
Cafe racer for the masses before they were considered mainstream cool. I don't see how you can go wrong buying one.

Just seen that purple one on FB marketplace, you swine I want one even more now. Dare say it would look just as good with riser/flat bars for increased comfort (if that was an issue).

Low rise renthals would be cool but I would leave it personally.
You know the red one on there has less than 5000 miles. -

Can't go wrong with a honda, I have the same inseam so know your pain. Best to go and sit on a few bikes if you can and see if it's such an issue for you.

Himalayan. Relatively cheap, owners seem to like them

On the subject of smaller capacity bikes...
"Selling my fzr 250 with rd250lc engine
Spec as follows
1994 fzr 250 frame with an rd250lc engine fitted
Engine is after a full rebuild by the previous owner, I've put less than 50 miles on it since
Has electric water pump fitted Custom loom
Digital dash
Fan on switch
Carbon reed valves
5mm space plates on carb
Tzr 250 exhausts
2 brand new Pirelli diablo rosso II tyres
2007 r6 rear shock
Custom tz250 style tail piece
Yzf750 front race fairing
Brembo front and rear master cylinders
Chain, sprockets, brake pads all like new
1/4 turn throttle
Running premix
.
The frame hasn't been modified as the engine is sitting on a steel cradle frame and mounted to the normal engine mount bolt holes, very goos job done on it
.
.
The bike is not mint, fairings have a few marks here and there and the spray job isn't perfect, the bike also needs to be jetted to be 100% but it's running fine as is, starts first kick everytime, has back light fitted so can be driven on the road
Have the logbook here in my name
Bike will be vintage in January
I'm looking 3k
Thanks for looking"

Reminds me of the Honda Inazuma I borrowed for a while. It was a riot. WOT all the time.

It was - fs1e at 16, rd250 or a kh250 triple at 17 - then start thinking about your test. That's how it was back then.

We had a parking bay for peds and 250s at school

I would totally own a Goose. The DR350 engine is great.

Yeah and that is why the prices of those bikes are mental.
Scooters or motorcycle made your affiliation.

I even have an authorised dealer for Royal E nearby, and they do have a loyal following it seems, they just seem a bit ersatz (there is one in Camo which I assume is ironic) or something largely irrelevant. Worried I might look a bit of a twat but that does not usually stop me. Will arrange a test ride. I think you can lower the seat a bit.

New Himalayan looks great actually, seems like RE fanboys aren't mad into it but probably a lot more appealing to everyone else!
-

I was almost tempted by RE's a couple times, but they are heavy and the classic style ones generally attract the wrong sort of clientele, like a Leica Rangefinder meet.
RE Himalayan is an odd duck. Lacklustre in almost every way, but if you want that affordable comfortable slow bike that just does what it does - like the person who's worked on checkouts for the last 20 years - it's the bike for you.
I'd definitely consider the Scram version, which does away with all the faux adventure crap in lieu of slightly more attractive scrambler bits.
Talking of scramblers....

Wow, that looks almost like it's halfway to being taken seriously.

I really like the look of the existing Himalyans shrug a few people round this neck of the woods have them, I'm sure theyre not mega exciting but those riders don't have much bad to say about it

V-Strom 250 SX looks like a banging commuter/ greenlaner...
@Tom13 they're such pretty bikes and probably like a 400, where you can enjoy all of its performance. Not sure how practical though. Half tempted myself!
