Do you have a code reader?
-
• #24504
I do not. Looking for a local shop to give me a quick read.

Fixed. Exhaust valve stuck.
This is actually the second time that's happened to the bike. First was fixed under warranty.
Lovely guys at Feel That Noise Royston fixed it in 30 mins for £42.May still be a servo replacement long term but gets me back on the road for work next week for less than the price of a single days train commute.

Sounds like the kind of mechanics who will get your money again.
-
• #24507
Yeah. Second time I've been there (MOT earlier in the year). They're proper mechanics. One of them is ex BMW too so handy for my bike.

Ha ha should have bought {insert your bike/bike you want/Ducati model you want}
-
• #24509
Part of me wants to say you went back, but if they admitted the mistake I would be wary.
Any software readers and cables about?

Triumph sold! Guy rocked up in a hire van without a ramp... so was interesting lifting a 200+kg bike into the van... never again!
I know someone who is looking for garage space, so I may let them use it in return that I can make use of their multistrada!

A DIY auto paint query...
I've got some fibreglass panels to paint and they're already in primer but there's some pinholes I need to fill and sand for a good finish...I was planning to use Pro-XL Ultrafill Glaze filler as it seems to be the finest option my supplier has got but I'm wondering will I need to prime again before painting or will I get away with just filling sanding and painting?

• #24513
Congrats.
What multi?
Also you fuckers need to quit the selling a bike before getting another. Not how it works...
Any body want to buy a scottay.
-
• #24514
I'll get back to you as it is not that easy any more.
-
• #24515
Cheers, I'm not trying to do anything too fancy but would like to get a good finish and I've bought a jazzy decal kit I want to get into the lacquer so don't want to make a mess of it!

Freecycle - Does anyone want a motorcycle jacket size M?
Weise Psycho Jacket 2 - Motocycle Jacket - Size M - Black
I've put it on ebay but happy to take it off there and give it to someone on here.
I bought it years ago and it's always been too small for me. It's sat in storage taking up space and it needs to go.
It's got some scuff marks on the back and sleeves but they were there when I got it so couldn't tell you how they occurred. Photos and whatnot on the ebay ad.

Pick up from Dalston or I could meet somewhere a bit further a field (within reason)

Hardly on here these days, but thought I'd sound out this thread. Haven't ridden much since the car took me out a few years ago, but got some money burning a hole in my pocket and thought I might make a winter purchase, pop it in the garage and wait for the Spring. Which of these would you go for?
1299S Panigale (2016/2017)
KTM RC8R (2013/2014)
MV Agusta F3 800 RC (2017/2018)
Aprilia RSV4RR (2019)
BMW S1000RR (2016-2018) -

1299S. They look utterly bonkers - the torque curve is ridiculous. Last of the twins, so suspect they'll hold their value pretty well.
-
• #24520
Was gonna say the Aprilia is the best value, but realised how ridiculous that sounds...
-
• #24521
MV 'cos it is an MV.
Welcome back and how are the fam?
-
• #24522
They're all good thanks, became a "step-grandfather" last week.
So my thinking is:
Panigale because of performance
KTM because old-school/analogue and rarely seen
MV because sexy as fuck
Aprilia because possibly the best package overall
Bimmer because sensible option, relatively speaking... -

Some incredible bikes to choose from there, pretty much peak exotica (I do have another suggestion though...)
I think for me it would be the Aprilia, it's probably the best sounding bike in the world and I love how it looks, I also feel like they're the right balance of Italian-ness without the Ducati/ MV Agusta golf club vibes (not that it would necessarily put me off either).
Jung is probably correct on the 1299S being a good investment.
KTM is undeniably mental in the best way and rare to boot.
MV Agusta is a bit footballers for my taste I think and if I were going to go for an MV it would probably be an F4 1000.
S1000RR is popular for good reason and while it may seem the more sensible option it definitely wouldn't be boring! As a wild card entry would you consider a Bimota? Probably down on performance vs the other options but great levels of exotic...

Never been a fan of their bikes, but that is nice. Finding one in the UK would be a challenge, I guess and, as you say, down on power...
I know what you mean about MVs, but the RC does just look great.

Oh this is the thing, I am being completely nitpicky on the MV because I'd have one in a heartbeat! I suppose when you have that selection of bikes to choose from though you do have to be nitpicky as they're all great choices!
Yup. Guess I’ll just have to buy the new one. Oh well.
