In the US Harleys are a specific thing. There are different intensities, but half of them couldn't name another brand.

You’ve time to think about it and watch how the first couple of recalls go if decisions are only next year.

Ha. True.
Potential for a few dealerships to do new offers but it all depends on when they go on sale.

The SRAD is sorned, and in multiple bits, for winter tinkering but the CRF450 should have an MOT sometime next month. If I have a free weekend I'll hit you up. Very kind! You think the RniceT is bad, the CRF looks like it has a seat but it's actually a torture device.

It's the inner thighs on the RnineT, the piping on the seat makes it feel like it's cutting into you. Not pleasant.
Let me know, bike gets used all year round...
-
• #24157
Could that be cured with something over the top of it like a cool cover. I tend to fit those as standard as I like the airflow under me sweaty parts.
-
• #24158
Maybe. It's a loan bike for the day so happily back on the GS tomorrow when I collect.
If I ever owned an RnineT, the seat would go before it left the dealership.

I've spent the last two evening resuscitating my dirt bikes. The CR had pooled gooey two stroke in the carb bowl and had a blocked pilot jet, the XR had a blocked pilot jet, and a fouled plug. The joy of not riding stuff for 6 months....On the plus side, both passed the wheelie up the alley test and are ready for hurling a few rocks this weekend if the weather stays nice. I'm well overdue a dirt outing.

Didn't the vests move on to piano tuner?

125-ers aren't the object of hate, the squidlife and the loud unbaffled cans are.
You're right though. A few of them can't be saved, they'll GS at the first opportunity.

Oh noooo don't tell me about that. My trials bikes will be the same. Haven't been kicked over since the week of the DR rear-ender. That was months ago now.
-
• #24163
Yeah. Fortunately both had avgas in so not much if any corrosion to deal with. Still sucks. Ducati next, and that has had shitty CA gas in it....boo.

A friend fucked up his 748 by leaving petrol in it, although that was for years as opposed to months. It was an early yellow biposto (P reg he bought new) and eventually it must have sat for nearly a decade with little if any use (a series of divorces, failed relationships and general not having a fixed abode!!!). He said the pump in the tank just got gummed up and completely fubar’ed.

Mine have had premium, but it's still E5, so I'm still due some maintenance. My own fault for being ill, I guess.
-
• #24166
New E10 fuel kills carbs in under a month, and thats with decent quality parts inside, viton o rings etc. Unless your bike is in near daily use, at least weekly you have to drain carbs out as best poss, but even then fuel line still decays quicker than usual.

Sherco trials took 3 or 4 kicks and that was it. Idling fine. Phew.

Duc was considerably less fiddly as you can pop the carb bowls off without removing the carbs. I've swapped out all the fuel lines on my carbed bikes for fancy Tygon stuff that seems to last better. I run avgas 100ll in the off road bikes, 5.50 a gallon at the local municipal airport, rather than 6.50 a gallon for shitty pump gas 91.....they've got a self serve pump on the apron.

You know what, new GS looks great. Yep, I said it. Looks less porky and more purposeful. Pretty sure it´ll sell to middle aged ´consultants´ in droves.
Grab a bargain on the old stuff. Live that technogasm! -

middle aged ´consultants´
Fuck

Absolutely besotted by this RSV Mille in track guise... I think if I do get one it may well have track fairings with discreet LED lighting and look a lot like this.
-
• #24172
That's fit.

Late on this but friend had one.
Competent but boring was his assessment. For commuter duties he'd rather a battered CB500 he didn't have to worry about, for fun riding something more fun. It just sat in a real middleground of being of 'ok'.
He upgraded to a K1200R and loved it.

Probably the best place in western Europe for some fun on dirt (without being need to be a pro enduro rider)?
1300 / 1400 GS launch Thursday apparently.
Was swearing a couple of weeks ago that I'd just pay off my currently bike when the lease expires in June but I'm tempted. Apparently coming with radar and auto lowering suspension which would be great. Might mean I can flat foot a fat tanked one. No chance currently.
