Love it. That's proper long term polishing.

Still love my (road reg'd) '16 Sherco ST300. Was practicing with a mate on some areas off a green lane at the weekend. Problem is he wants to hoon down the lanes like his old tired Gas Gas TXT 250 (280?) is an enduro... the Sherco hates it; slower speeds in the first 3 gears fine... but high revs and pushing in higher gears feels awful.
Top gear, steady revs, the engine sounds and feels like it's going to throw a gear out of the case. Rattly and horrid. It's really not built for persistent revs in high gears at any great speed.
So, yea, a TY Mono would be great, it would do a lot and be less aggressive than the ST wheelie machine... but bang for buck, I'd struggle to even consider selling the Sherco.
EDIT: Reading online it could be related to the clutch rattle / use more oil in gearbox. Always sounded like clutch over gearing, but who knows not me.

Could it just be chain rattle?
Have you considered a Pampera? I think this would be your perfect bike? -
• #23256
ain't much.
Then lists all the things. Sounds right up my street.

I have indeed considered the Pampera. But I don’t have space for the three bikes already in my ownership so it remains window shopping.
It’s from the engine for sure, doesn’t sound like chain rattle.

Oi put the forks back in ;)
The sv6 'cheap' bike with budget front suspension and brakes and a laughable standard rear shock, especially for fat europeans
Oh and you can ruin an engine from wheeling for too long as front cylinder run out of oil.
Popular in the minitwins race series

It’s all minor till you have an ebay search saved for Dymags or Marchesinis.
@user155208 that’s the one!

Just bought a Grand Pet Palace Kuryakyn off t'bay for £175.
Low balled the BiN of £210 and was accepted. Now wondering how low I could have gone.
Oh well, hopefully he will a) fit and b) enjoy the experience.
Should only be occasional trips to daycare, but will be trying him out in it on local trips for acclimatisation.

Forgot to reply to this, amazing work. If I could even weld imagine it would take a very very long time.

Could it just be chain rattle?
Did some research online and people say “clutch rattle” is normal from the Sherco models. Further research some people have more recently noted the old manuals say 450cc of oil, and the newer manuals say 700cc…
…so I poured an extra couple hundred ml of fully synth Castrol Power 1 Racing 10W40 (sod ATF) and had a test.
Forgot how much smoother the bike feels on fresher oil, and when giving it beans in 5th down the road it felt much much better.
It felt slower to pick up the revs in 5th which lends me to believe it is actually swimming with oil where before it could rev out as it was barely paddling in it.
Bloody hell it burnt some oil out the end can though. I forgot how big the plumes of smoke get when hot.
All clean and ready for MOT on Monday.

Just back from Monkey Run Morocco. What a blast!
We arrived in Marrakech on Thursday morning, mooched about and then got a bus to Merzouga on Friday morning before spending Saturday test riding the monkey bikes and a quick spin to have a look at the race paddock for Rally Du Maroc which was pitched up nearby (some outrageously cool vehicles there, I'll dig out those photos for a post later on).
We set off on Sunday morning from Merzouga and spent the next week travelling across the Sahara desert and Atlas Mountains, we covered about 850km and had to deal with two of the lads being particularly unwell (stomach virus and heat stroke) so we didn't quite cover the ground we had anticipated but it was great craic!
We covered some properly challenging terrain where roads were described as "seasonal" routes which in one instance turned out to be a riverbed which is dry this time of year and it took us 4hrs to cover 40kms but again what a blast to do that on a stupid little 49cc bike designed for children!Morocco is a bikers paradise, I'd 100% go back again but it'll probably be on a 250-450cc enduro bike next time I think...
Special mention to @pdlouche who made up a bunch of patches for our onesies at extremely short notice! They looked absolutely fantastic and proved a great ice breaker with the locals in every village we arrived into!

Bikes were Skyteam ST50-8 which is basically a 50cc monkey bike replica and were provided by the event organisers The Adventurists!

Cool bike but that front mudguard isn't doing it any favours. Give it the old Ronnie Mac trim at the front.

You've got a fucking moustache!!! Didn't see that one coming.

Monkey sold, for more than I bought it for. Maybe I should start flipping bikes?
Unfortunately it still wont cover an R nineT :'(
The white one in Crickhowell looks a good buy as well. If you could get that down to £1750 you would be well in. Prices are starting to creep up now the weather is turning.
