I bet he likes that! I am a big fan of that look too!
Why VFR test ride? for you? What? Is that the new VFR or an older one? VFR from late 90s is one of my favorite bikes, I'd love one after my suzuki...
Speaking of my Suzuki, I finally changed tyres on saturday, and replaced the missing mirror, I am road legal again! Yeah! Seing my mechanic next sat to sort out that leaking fork and bits and bobs...

Yes. Exactly that one. ^^^
My friend is buying one and he wants me to test them too. It is amazing bike. I like the V4 engine with its sound and friendly kick at 6000rpm and gearbox is super smooth if in good condition.
It doesnt feel as quick as my Triple though.

How much a VFR like this cost these days? (well, how much your friend is paying for it, what mileage, etc...) Just out of interest?
Anybody knows how the electrics are aging on these? And injection? (it is injection right?)

Price range is 2500 to 3000 for "good" condition with milage less than 40k.
It has the PGM-FI fuel injections, although some older ones still have choke lever (which I find amusing). The best one we were riding so far was almost perfect (but the heavily rusted exhaust). The injection worked flawlessly smooth on and off throttle.

Recommendations please for a good sports tourer around £2500? Ive watched some clean BMW k1200's (2002 ish, 30-40k miles) on eBay and triumph Sprints, bit old man but I'm more mile muncher than Sunday screamer and my bandit is getting too many quirks to trust abroad. Ta!

I have no idea about the BMWs, except that most people want them to use the cylinder head on Mini engines, which can't say much about the bike.
I had a Triumph Sprint 1050ST as a courtesy bike for a day and I was utterly staggered by the depth and breadth of its capability.
It is as easy as a moped to ride in city traffic, yet it is utterly stable at over 100mph, it's exceptionally comfortable, with no wind buffeting, and it corners, if not like a sports bike, at least far better than something like that has any right to, and the thing is so damn fast. At any speed in any gear, if you twist the throttle enough it will hurl you towards the horizon, such is the solid wall of torque that the triple has.
A bloody amazing bike. -

Thanks BQ, the triumph looks a lot slimmer which I'd prefer for filtering. How's that et3 of yours btw, got it on the road? (it's Ben - Regals brother who has the workshop with Trevor @ Project 13)

Do they still make motorbikes?
I thought that side of the business went bust or got sold off or something?

Idle fantasizing (idle 'cos I'm broke), never had a new bike, hmmmm, thoughts:
Triumph Bonneville?
Moto guzzi V7 classic?
Kawasaki W800?Hmmmmmmm?

Bonny, old or new?
Guzzi V7, looks pretty in pictures but in real life would probably rot before your very eyes.
Kwak W800, hmmm, bit too faux for my tastes.
If you're thinking is in that sort of vintage direction though then why not go for a classic 80s or maybe 90s Jap? You could get one for a fraction of the price with original looks.
-

Seen loads of nice W800s that have been customised.
New Bonnies are a bit bland for my liking, though a new set of pipes does wonders for them. Guy in my uni used to have one that had reverse cone silencers on it, sounded beastly.

What sort of thing?
He has some other projects on the go. I'm out there for a proper holiday at the end of March and will get some decent photos.
