So I crashed today. Proper lowside that flipped me upside down. Damaged shoulder tendon that might need work.
How did it happen you ask? Well, I saw it in slow motion. Coffee cup lid that was blown by a breeze as I was mid corner. Went right under the tyre. Rest is history.
Ride safe, wear your gear, and keep your peepers open. -

Oh nooo! Sorry to hear that. What terrible luck. You must be the first biker in the world to be felled by a coffee cup lid. Just incredible. It used to be diesel spills we had to live in fear of. Now it's coffee cup lids! At least you didn't end up hitting a kerb or a lamp post or something. How's the bike? And did you keep the lid??

Shit. Hopefully the shoulder doesn't turn out to be too bad. Glad the rest of you is OK.
How's the bike?

No, it has a normal old school finned reg/rec.
I want to replace it at some point with a MOSFET one, as the Internet says it helps with battery management.
The link was just an eg of the mod. I'd probably put mine next to the air intake so it's accessible and has more air flow just in case. Although mounting it under the tank is common as lots of people remove the AI and that leaves a space with the correct mounting holes.
The main reason for bringing this up was the link you posted, which if it meant there were say 5 common jap bikes with a compatible reg/rec then it would be quite an easy and economical ebay purchase vs this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hot-Shot-Series-Voltage-Regulator-Rectifier-Triumph-Thruxton-2004-2008-05-06-07-/165180287713?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

Bloody hell, that sounds like bad luck. Hope you and the bike get back to fighting form soon.

Ouch!
You won’t be the first or last to suffer that, I’m sure.
I have heard on a couple of occasions of crushed cans causing bumtwitch.

It’s a growing trend…

Right? It was a clean flip luckily.
Helmet fine and bike just cruised on. Scratched exhaust but bobbins took worst of hit.@jambon hopefully back up before track season is in full tilt.
@pdlouche of all the things you learn to watch out for, never expected this till I saw it scuttle across the road. It was a case of 1+1=aww shit.

Re: Jeans...
I've gotten a jacket from Akin Moto already and I'm super impressed by it, I'll be getting a pair of their jeans next...

Unlucky, never thought they would be such a danger. Wet man hole covers on the other hand!
Hope you heal quick.

Pretty annoying as flying out to Spain in a couple weeks to do some two wheeled shite. Curses

That’s a bummer man. Top marks for finding a novel way to go down…;) Hope all mended soon.
I took the pig out and finally did the Pioneertown to Big bear loop. Some highly scenic off roading. One of the poor fellas I was with left it all on the mountain. He fell off about six times before wadding it up properly in a sand wash about half a mile before the end. Top marks to him for finishing the ride.
I had the pig in 5th on my long gearing in the wash, I reckon 80 for sure. Runs like a beast on the 100ll.

Get shoulder looked at, don't be a fucking idiot like I was. Have issues now from soft tissue damage that means I've ended up with frozen shoulders as I didn't listen to doctors after skiing injuries. Don't be as stupid as me.

Shall we talk about it on here or in Private messaging?
Sure we can work out which bikes reg/rec is used and then source a second hand one. Especially as we are in no hurry.

Hey, half a mile is a short walk to fucking accomplishment really. Big salute to the guy. Just looked up the route and sweet tap dancing jesus, that's some hard enduro shit right there. How are the arms?
@lynx Went straight to emergency dude, sharp fast heavy pain so didn't want to leave it to luck. Booked in to breaks and fractures in a couple days.

Not trying to be an arsehole, but please learn from my mistakes. I don't wan't you to suffer my issues. Try and get an MRI or ultrasound to confirm the all clear. Don'r just brush it off, don't be like me. Better to know there is no damage or that you need physio than brush it off under it will just get better. Soft tissues damage can be harder to diagnose than a break of a bone.
Stay safe and hope ibprofen and cool packs help.
EDIT Not trying to teach you to such eggs want someone to learn from my stupidity cos I don't.

It’s not really hard - a few rocky bits but nothing super lairy. There are some seriously gnarly trails out that way though, it’s great riding. The fast swoopy sandy parts are a total gas.

Good luck trying to get a MRI rapid on the nhs right now.

Probably right, just me being hoping people aren't as silly as me. It is my thing. Like making sure people are looked after after a head injury. Rather be over causious with peoples injuries. Rather be told I am wrong than fear I am right.

The pig is back home and the garage is packed like sardines again….got to get the old RM back together and get it gone.

Fitted a big double bubble from a breakers. Original screen was non-oem (I think) and cut down (to clear riser bars).
Tried it for 5 miles but traffic was too heavy. Only managed one clear stretch of dual carriageway. Much nicer to tuck behind. Didn’t even feel like 140mph. Forgot to put earplugs in so certainly sounded like it though!

Just leaving this here…
Ah so your bonnie has an unfinned reg/rec? Looking at the kit linked it is not a straight swap so would it just be a matter of finding the right reg/rec and then your own wiring.
I wouldn't be happy with the reg/rec next to the battery.
