I’d ridden in that day, so the ride home helped. Not sure if scared is the right word, just reminded of mortality or something 🤷♂️

Hmm yea. I was chatting to the IAM Roadsmart guys at the weekend. Key takeaway was the obvious - constant self-assessment.
After each ride thinking what was good, or bad, what needs work.
In your position I’d have probably found it quite upsetting, and then dedicated a little bit of time to the carpark drills we can never be bothered with.
In other news, TK Maxx have Mizuno’s in DR350 colourway and I resisted buying them. Clearly it was a mistake and I will be going back for them tomorrow.

Are you riding off road? If no get smt.
I honestly couldn't think of anything else for the price id get, apart from an old africa twin or something else less powerful but cool looking. -

Ordered a new radial master cylinder for the clutch - the old one doesn't clearance the new clip on properly and sticks the lever up at an inconvenient angle. After approximately 3.5minutes of internet research, it seems that there's only a mill of difference between the newer models and the older ones, so scored a fancy, cheap s/h Brembo off a 2020 Hypermotard.
Wait two weeks for the cautionary, buy cheap, buy twice tale of woe when the fucker doesn't work properly....
In other news, I seem to have acquired projects the way Hemingway went bankrupt. I have so much old shite now, I can't decide what to do next.

Sounds bloody brilliant. Best of luck with the new radial master cylinder, need to get me one of these for the SRAD.

I still have SRAD envy, yours looks awesome - they're soo bloody rare over here now!
I need to get a new MC for the Brakes on my GSXR too...they're still a bloody disaster. It's not that they don't stop, but that the feel is so inconsistent. Highly disconcerting on a bike that fast. Apparently a Brembo RCS19 is the panacea.

More of a day dream than actually planning to buy, but...
Is there anything up with the kawasaki KLX250?
Anyone ridden one?
I've been wondering if I could get a DRZ400 or 650 to leave at my folks in France to ride some country roads and some mild off-road through the woods. I'd assumed the Susukis would be cheaper, but they're not. In France they're a bit better than the UK, but the KLX250 just seems much better value - newer, cheaper, lower miles, etc. It remind me a bit of my plan to buy a Hornet when I passed my test, which ended once I discovered it was basically impossible to buy a decent one.

CRF250/300L?
-

Seriously considered this myself and obviously went down a CRF rabbit hole on YouTube.

I've ridden a KLX250 and they're sweet little bikes - handle great off road. Friendly. The one I rode had been horribly, horribly abused and still chuffed along fine.
Bet the CRF250L is more of the same, but Honda.

With a bit of money spent on suspension? They are supposed to be RTW-worthy.
Even stock, Itchy Boots has been putting the miles in across the southern African nations this past year on one.

Oh don't you send me back to YouTube, that'll be another few hours wasted before I know it.

Watch Spurge try not to diss the KLR650 too badly instead.

Anyone ever hankered after a ZX10. A friend had one back in the day. It was very very fast then!

I thought they were dead cool when I was about 12, I might even have built a Tamiya model of one! Big slab of old school muscle, I bet they're still fast (and comfy.)
By 13 I think I'd moved on to hoover tube ZXR750s as the object of my affections.

Yes, you must be a few years younger than me then. I was sworn off bikes at this time because I'd had a pretty big crash a while before and I wanted to live a bit before wrapping myself round a tree.

The single seat hoover tube (ZXR750J?) was/is a cracking bike. My mate had one. BSB on the road😀 Ooops, showing my age!!😂😂

My sister had a ZXR750 (last one before the ZX7R) - it was nice! Bit heavy but cracking front end.
In other news - warm up your two strokes before ragging on them people!

Typical self-destructive 2 stroke behavior. There's a reason no one makes them any more :)

You know you want one!!!😀😀

Looks like they are ZX7R J,K and M. Google works! Still looks fantastic.

One of the importers near me has an RGV 250 unregistered import.
Thanks! I dread to think how long the wait for practical tests will be!
