  • Never fixed mine, and been sorn since winter. Letting insurance run, its like £89 a year or something, not worth the phone call and whatever their cancellation is.

Don't have a problem with it, some folk just want to complain about everything though, probably can't change that! Probably has a more positive effect on your wellbeing than not riding it :D

  • I’ve been commuting on mine and getting pissy comments from the weekend warriors at work!
Conditions are perfect at the moment and I’m enjoying being able to take corners without worrying about whether the car in front is going to slam their brakes on half way round.

  • Sorry mate. Despite having two, I have zero spares! Poor planning really.

  • I was doing deliveries for the local charity, hence the bags on the sides. Roads are nice and quiet, but already getting busier again, and the only cars out are driving faaaast.

Been hitting some byways/green lanes maybe once a week as alternate routes to/from an essential journey. Just cos it’s a detour on a fun potholed gravel track doesn’t mean it’s not essential travel. The advice says essential travel, not shortest route.

To be honest I have tried to cut down the riding to a few times a week, but since setting the mtb back up and trying to get on the pedestrianised gravel tracks and cycleways it is more dangerous being on a push bike. The shitload of people out and not social-distancing is horrendous. I feel at greater risk having to slow to pass all these people in close proximity.

  • Been using mine for work, first time since last year.

Its summer in Glasgow this week so I took a picture to remember it. (Summer, no the bike)

  • TransAlp... but can it survive upper Scotland?

  • The weekend before the lockdown I gave mine a complete clean down ready for commuting back into London again. Didn't even manage to give it a 20 minute blast.

Monday i used it to head over to my parents to deliver my dad his prescription which was the first time i'd used it since late October last year.

Felt great to be back on the bike but now i just want to go out on it more. Fingers crossed some restrictions will start to lift towards the end of May.

  • Who has all been using their motorbike during lockdown then?

Once to pick up printed documents from my folks. It was fucking amazing. Until I hit lights and 20mph zones I did what would take me ~35mins in 15mins.

It was also really odd to actually take corners on sections that I m normally going so slow on that I'm steering. If that makes sense?

Unfortunately there's little chance of my OH letting me out for recreation rides as even that one was protested.

  • reminded me of...

  • You're a poo! Finding it really tough finding K4/5 GSXR stuff. All the parts are stupid popular with racers so the prices are mental.

L series parts go for so cheap but K series stuff is mad pricey.

@M_V I've been out a few times. Mostly to parents to check up on them trough the window and then a couple of shakedowns after some repairs. Gassing it around an empty Piccadilly Circus was great.

  • My ride yesterday was unfortunately very suburban and the traffic level seemed little different to what it'd normally be. Which makes the disapproving looks all the more ironic.

  • Just gone in the garage with the V4S

  • Nice! - I think they've definitely aged well. They look particularly striking in the flesh non? Especially the monoposto versions. A good rip on that would be a splendid tonic right now - can you claim you're out looking for toilet paper?

  • Agreed for sure. I reckon Terblanche was on to something that was way way ahead of his time in terms of design. Considering he worked with Tamburini says something as well.
Been looking at the Multistrada 1100 with different eyes recently, it's aged really well. Priced temptingly as well.

@Markyboy What's the deal with those two? Would love more pics of that 749

  • Like everyone else, I hated them when they came out and they've grown on me. This one's in pretty good shape and just needs taking out

  • I have a friend who's been storing his Panigale with me for the last year, and has just added this. The 749 hasn't been registered in the UK yet. He's very trusting - I have the keys and alarm/immobiliser fobs in the house and an invitation to help myself, but I haven't. My last ride ended in a head-on with a car coming the other way overtaking without seeing me. It wasn't my first accident, but the only one when I genuinely thought I was going to die.

  • Another pic

Ouch. That's heavy. I can understand the case. Experienced a similar thing out with riding with some people, so now ride at a significantly less rabid pace. Bikes are bikes, and life is leaps and bounds more important.
If anything my good man, you sure do have a couple of beauties to look at. It's a hell of a leap in design but the influence is undeniable.
I love how there's essentially nothing below the seat apart from exhaust.

    and rim tape

  • Hey, whatever you do with your rim is entirely up to you. I won't judge

  • I’d seen this in the flesh outside a relatively local dealer.

Apparently a few people were refused finance on it, that’s why it was still sat there as lockdown came into full effect.

Didn’t wanna like it, but kinda liked it.

  • Multistrada 1000 does bits for me but I still don't know how I feel about the front end.

    I like this "facelifted" one

  • If you are bored look up the valve sizes and which years, have the carbs been rebuilt with new needles and jets. Check the bottom of the headstock carefully for cracking.

Want more details gimme a shout.

  • When you are sitting on it you can't see the front end.

They are fucking aces, get one with a center stand and termi cans. Available cheap as the clocks were replaced and the mileages are off so fail HPI checks. Don't worry about the ohlins stuff or not as it isn't better than standard. Best performance mods are super lightweight wheels and making sure the cam timing is right and the valves have been lapped properly.
