Two strokes?
Yamaha RD250 LC, Kawasaki KH250 triple...at 17 on a provisional licence...
I 'just' missed the 250 loophole by a couple of years I think. Didn't stop me from getting a coffin tanked air-cooled RD125 twin that went like the clappers! Then after my test a white and blue RD350LC that thing was such mental fun. Rode it to the TT when I was about 22, the first and only time I've ever been :)
By the way, the Katana is in this month's Streetfighters rag [ProudDad] :D

Marko - I love GSXR1100s - still one of the best sounding bikes ever. Always wanted a martek or a simoto framed one, 1340 APE block the works. Me and a mate very nearly persuaded a bloke we knew in the states (who co-ran the corona suzuki team) to sell us one of his old racebikes. It was a 7/11 with full yoshi racekit, hogged out to some ridiculous dimensions. Looked an absolute beast.
I really like my k5 - it's just wasted riding around london and most of the roads in the SE. Currently I'm craving one of these, though I'm not sure I'm stupid enough to ride it properly anymore.... ;)
oohh. VanUden - congrats on the Kat!

I had an SMR, sadly got nicked after only 2 months, probably a good thing in th long run as my licence would have been gone within a year.

I saw my old VXR400 outside TTT motorcycles the other day.
Nice to see it's still on the road, and the current owner is looking after it. -

Too big for Mr That I imagine, 21" pit to pit.
Coppi has first refusal after that its free to whomever, but collection will be from east beers, I can't be arsed to post.
If nobody wants it I'll use it as a tool roll rag.
Hi Coppi,
I think it'll be too big for you, I'll measure.
Its a cheap cheesy one either way:

i thought i was doing a bad science and riding home a "new to me" motorcycle but i just realised he bought a blazer (picture please). anyhow i am now the new owner of the bike below. pic taken at the petrol station filling up before starting the journey. rode it back from harrold in bedfordshire. it was just under 70 miles along A roads. it felt great. i am not a big fan of the tank cover so it will come off and only go on for long rides i guess. i am happy.
bigben thanks for thinking of me i will leave it to one of the buffer forumers.

Can anyone recommend a cheap, reliable bike? Im having to start taking longish journeys on a regular basis and want something comfy to get me there and back. I was thinking about something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1977-HONDA-BLUE-SUPERDREAM-250cc-CLASSIC-MOTORBIKE-/170652741009?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D596576927511235311#ht_3420wt_979
But i have no idea about bikes and am unsure where to start?
Also im not sure if this is a repost but it's a lovely video:

Seller is confused, that is a honda dream not a super dream.

Reliable in its day, but now very old, any bike of that age will take a lot of looking after. If you specifically want an older bike of that size I would go for a honda RS250, very very reliable and a lot more fun than a wet dream.
If you just want a reliable bike, a honda cb350 is still old but newer than an rs250 and would be a good bet, or any of the modern middle weights

Sitting in the studio masking off bmw bolts for spraying instead of making art.
Dilema, do I keep aiming for the bike back on the road this summer whiuch may or may not happen, or do I bite the bullet strip out the frame and have the frame and fixings powder coated? This gives me the opportunity to have the engine and gearbox striped and checked over.
Then I can assemble it in those long cold dark boring wet winter nights which are not wednesday and so do not have east beers.
Sigh.

^^ This is good advice.

big ben if you have another bike to ride strip it, if not get it ready for summer and then strip it after summer has passed.
i went for a rather enjoyable ride with vello yesterday afternoon through kent and then onto boxhill. we got caught in the rain on the way back but that only dampened spirits slightly. wore me out and made me have to pass on the nocturne. woke up with a smile on my face though. -

!@£$%^&*(!!!! jealous.
That is what my heart says, but then I know I'm going to look at it for the next five years and think "shouda done the frame".
Don't know.
Great you had a good ride though, you deserve it after recent happenings.

follow your heart.
does anybody have any inside information on which of these types of devices are good. here's an example
Bloody hell man!! You complain to the 600rs(Honda Yamaha FTW)[and Ducati, but in a different note...] and then you go around with a Suzuki1k?:)))
That, it reminds me of a GSXR1100(not mine), first edition, slightly touched, POP Yoshimura tube, the little bronze(getti) thingy things inside the "carburatori" changed with bigger holes, and a 20% more air from the black box... I think it was 1988, I was illegal because you must had 21years for over 350cc in Italy at the time, I was on my way back form Vallelunga(track)... on the Cassia Bis(fast road) and??>>>>> 305kmh!!!(that was not illegal:/)
Today I couldn't even get close to that funnel business... I have been lucky, a few of my mates in that business are not here anymore.
BTW, I hate to talk and think of motorbikes, it make me feel old and nostalgic sad.
But, Il lupo perde il pelo ma non il vizio.:)
