Why is practicality coming in to this?

Guzzi looks nice.
I want one of these though, with the wheel rack n everything.

It is pretty but it is so slow, just about everything will leave it standing these days, and with looks like that it should leave everything standing!
It is a shame, because I love Guzzis, and the best bike I ever had was a Mk1 Lemans, curiously I sold it for a quicker bike, and regret it to this day. This though is even slower, and that will make it a real disappointment. My NC30 goes quicker that the guzzi but I had a hankering of building a guzzi bitsa mate has one that looks a lot like the cafe racer and maybe it struck a chord.
currently on the blag for one, will see how I feel after a ride and see how it handles.

^^^^^That magni is lovely, except for the rear fender, which looks as if it's come off a completely different bike.

ahh I let my brother have a go on my monkey bike this evening..
the last bike he rode was a 2 stroke crosser... and this little thing is a super torque ridden little machine! even though I told him that he shouldn't give it Any revvs when taking off he ignored me (being my older brother and knowing best..) and wheelied up the road in a horrifyingly wobbly fast manor.. and then stalled the bloody thing thinking he was in neutral and actually being in third gear. I'm glad I dont let other people ride my bikes..

apparently
"A plastic chrome tank, another disaster in the waiting is just another worry about the general quality of the finish of these new Piaggio Guzzis v7's" according to some guy off guzzitube.
I think it looks great. (Don't know shit about motorbikes.) -

What do you guys think?
at first i thought it looked okay nicely proportioned but nothing to be too excited about. but seeing it in the flesh kind of it looks gorgeous.

- Moto Guzzi V7 Clubman Racer Concept[/ame]perfect for a sunny day. yeah its a 'get the look instantly' bike but i guess there is a place in the market for those machines.
my neighbor who had his bike stolen ten or less days before mine has just bought a v7 classic. it sounds lovely.

What do you guys think? Beautiful, fake playing on the current retro fad?
I think it's absolutely gorgeous. Not sure it's fast enough, could do without the race numbers, and the tank should be ally so it scratches up nicely,
Lynx if you do blag one, please let me have a go on it. I've been itching to try one.

I have a the beemer now as (when in one piece) it's reliable and can tour in europe etc etc.
I'm basically into the 70's stuff and had three Guzzis:
V50 mk2, great if you have little legs or for round town. Nice.
Le Mans mk 2, great, great, cried my eyes out when I sold it, want another desperatly.
T3, this was my then partner's bike but we shared. Much more practical and comfortable than a Le Mans, kind of like the R80/7 I have now.I would buy any of those three bikes back in a nano second if I could.
Buy a Guzzi as a second bike unless you have loads of time to fix it. I still hanker after one as a long term project.

BQ, know what you mean, trouble is both the Guzzis and the twin Trumpets seem a bit well, gelded. How is you Thruxton?
Oh, yes, and don't bloody sell it you fool! Get comp insurance, rent a space in a garage anything.

Love Guzzis! That one ^ looks nice, i don't think they're really about speed, you'd still be faster than most cars. I like a lot of the deus ex machina stuff too!
This is based on a W650....

The headlight shroud would come off, as would the rear number oval, but I think it's great.

the indicators are tiny. whats the legal requirement?
flame deflector> i appreciate that its a concept bike and that there would be changes before it went to market.

Despite its low state of tune, the Triumph is a big engine, and has gobfuls of torque, so to me it goes like a scalded cat. More than enough grunt to embarrass the 4 cylinder boys with their gutless revvy motors at the lights. Top speed is enough, but of course aerodynamics are woeful, so the faster you go, the slower it gains speed. I took it for its MoT today (passed with flying colours of course) and it was such a delight to get back on the thing again, even if only for a slow blat round town. The only really fast bike I have ridden was a Triumph Sprint ST 1050, and at low speeds it was docile as a moped, but due to the fairings and the triple there was simply no let up in its power delivery. There was no speed or gear at which opening the throttle wouldn't produce staggering levels of acceleration, with a minimum of fuss. A marvellous rocketship of a bike really, but not my cup of tea. I like retro looks, drama, noise and a bit of menace.
The approach with the garage at the moment is to simply hope it goes away if we ignore it, and on receipt of any demand we shall send them footage of a half empty bike basement, pointing out the abundance of room. Long term I don't know what the plan is. We may rent a garage and share it, if we can find one near enough for cheap enough.
I have even thought about buying a garage. I saw one for £20,000 in Islington, with a car stacker in it. Not sure if it would be a sensible move, investment-wise.

C'mon now....not all 4 cylinder bikes are revvy and gutless.... ;)

At urban speeds most seem to be. I used to show them up on my VRX 400
Nothing happening until 6-8k (at which point, admittedly, all hell breaks loose) -

Hmm. Try holding a 98 R1 WOT up to 8k in first, let alone anything newer.
I can recommend an excellent source of replacement plastics once you've ascertained the outcome. ;)

Oy, Coppi wtf does that say? being lazt can't be bothered tp type it all into google translate only to get something incomprehensible...

Fair enough. However, most people don't have an R1.
It will make a CBR600, on the other hand, look stupid. Any decent twin will.

The flat is filling with boxes of new bmw parts so suddenly there is plenty of £££ work to be had. Sigh. I see a future convergance of three lines, time, my missus patience and the size of the boxes.

• #1249
R80/7 vs CBR600?
If you say so, but I'm not putting money on it.
PS: And if you say my beemer isn't a decent bike I'll shove one of your cigars up your ****.
PPS: After lighting it.;)

That's the spirit. Get building!
In other news I have once again decided against resurrecting the Vespa due to the lack of anywhere safe to keep it once it looks nickable.
