So I did this to my Rapha winter tights yesterday. Does anyone know the name of the fabric used?
Or have a donor of something similar?

I’m in Swindon, and it is bloody heavy… but is anyone interested in my Singer 29K58 leather patcher?
It has a silent servo motor attached, but the treadle is complete (actually used as pedal for motor).
Need to work out current value on the machine, but needs collecting from Swindon and minimum two people to carry it.

Probably a brushed thermal lycra. https://www.funkifabrics.com/plain-fabrics-c2/thermo-c159
They do free samples, if you wanted to check (or have a patchwork repair)
Or send to Rapha for repair? -

Thanks I've ordered some samples.

Hello! Apologies if this has been covered before but does anyone know where / if you can get these buckles with cam locks in the UK? Thanks in advance!
Doesn't have to be this specific one but just something similar: https://www.adventurexpert.com/product/heavy-duty-side-relase-buckle-with-auto-cam-25mm/

Looking for these too. Seem to be almost non existent here in UK. Did find a UK ebay seller with some but wanted £5 for one...

I have those heavy duty ones and they’re extremely heavy duty, overly so for my purposes. Woojin makes nice ones, Mozet Supplies over in Canada sells them. Not ideal from either a shipping cost nor shipping emissions perspective though.

Wow that’s pricey!

Ahh good to know, they do look quite substantial. I did see him post about them a while back, have you used them at all? I also have seen bags with ITW buckles with cam locks which seem to be impossible to find too?

I'm not crazy about the styling of the Woojins but functionally they're great. I have a couple of those ITWs in 20mm from when ExtremTextil had them in stock and I wouldn't mind finding more of them, especially in 25mm.

I need some advice on 2 things.
The logo's of my Rapha Insulated Gilet are comming loose, I have tried to apply heat with an iron and a towel in between which helped a bit. But after a washing they are loossening again. More heat? How hot can I get before the Gilet itself starts melting?
A seam from my Houdini Dunfri mittens has come loose, the material itself has frayed so I cant just sew it back together without it bunching back. What will be best practice to get them closed up and fucntional?

I'd like some advice on sewing a cordura 2d circle onto the bottom of a cylinder, to make a bar bag. I've been having some difficulty getting an even amount of fabric on each side of the stitch, and therefore a perfectly circular bag.
I've had a bit of a google and there isn't much advice on what to do for thick fabrics like cordura, but google does suggest that for other materials you should gather up the edge slightly.
Welcome any tips and tricks of how people do it.

Are you using relief cuts? I'm generally not great with tutorials in video form but this was extremely useful for me:

My first attempt was less than circular - not helped by being a small (ish) diameter. I found that tacking everything in place helps, as does a manual sewing machine where one stitch at a time can be done slowly - possibly higher end machines can do this, but I only have MrsE's Janome for comparison.
Second effort is larger - more saddle bag than bar, and I resorted to cheating. I wanted a stiffener for each end, so I 3D printed a disc with a rim and evenly spaced holes for hand stitching. Tacking the end in place allows the excess to be gathered evenly - photos below, but I forgot to take one before turning it all the right way round.
Obviously this is no help if you don't have access to a 3D printer, unless you get creative with a cut down plant saucer and a drill...

Incredible work!

Below: the photo I should have taken earlier, showing the outside on the inside before turning it inside out. Or something. A bar bag based on a Klein bottle perhaps?

Hi! I need a new pair of shorts. Would anybody like to recommend good short patterns or blocks? Thanks in advance!

Good question - I think that’s the sort of thing I’m after:

I believe Reddit.com/r/sewing is pretty good at recommendations like this.

I got an exciting delivery today. I’m waiting for a shorter drive belt to test it because I’ve immediately swapped out the clutch motor for a servo. Also waiting for the synchronised binding stuff because the eBay seller tried to mug me.
