is that before or after the 4x4 full of pissed up, be-mulleted fuckwits tried to run you off the road?
Outside Mildura drivers are fine. Roads are too wide for issues. I used get people waving since they'd probably never see anyone that far out of town on a bike. Heaps more bikes around Mildura now though. It's in cities where the cunts congregate, Melbourne in particular.
Thought I'd post a follow up to the xmas run to the coast; started pretty dismal, cold and overcast, but the cloud burned off when I got to Birling gap, and I was treated to clear skies and warm(ish) temperatures for the afternoon. The final leg (after dropping in for lunch at my mums) was tough getting going - had been a long day - but it was a crystal clear night with a brilliant half moon, a great feeling to push up and over Titsey hill for the easy run into town.
...one of the reasons for the update is to recommend anyone in the Seaford/Eastbourne area, or anyone thinking of taking a ride down there, is to ride the street luge course on the Beachy Head road. Gorgeous tarmac, flowing corners, stunning views. ...Alas, I was going up. There's a couple more hairpins if you follow the coast road along into Eastbourne if you want to continue your Alpine hit.

Below, Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters looking moody, the curves of the luge course, Exceat river meandering, the sun on my back over Ashdown Forest.
Hope you all had a good one on the 25th.
