Bike Trials

Trials biketrials observed trials etc. not trails.

It was massive in the UK. Not sure about nowadays. Does anyone on here ride trials? Seen a couple of people riding in London but not many.

Both are awesome for beginner (and not so beginner) trials riders trying to learn moves. If someone on here was riding trials I could bring them to London. I can't get onto Trials Online these days so thought I'd post about it here.

My dad rides trials. He's ridden motorbike trials since he was a nipper and i got him a 26" bike last year for his birthday; seems to be enjoying it but it's a whole different world not having an engine.

Wish i had the mad balance skills required, loads of guys rode trials where i skated as a yoof. Always a pleasure to watch.

If we had a VHS player I'd take the first video. Can't you put the effort in and put it onto a CD for me? You lazy fuck.

I did a couple of bike trials when I was a kid on a ridgid mountain bike with a home made bashgaurd. I rode trials on a motorbike until I was 18. Bike trials is still run under ACU legislation.

I remember thinking it was pretty gay compared to my motorbike.

I rode trials for about 4 years. Its awesome, biggest mistake i ever made was selling my 26" for a 20", its very specific, but just not as fun

i remember when i was younger everyone would be like "oooohh, i wanna get a trials bike, rip it up everywhere" and i always thought they didn't realise what it was, and probably meant trails bike, as i had what could be called a trails bike for these kind.

and i was confused by people riding around on tiny bikes with tiny gear ratio.

i have not heard anyone say they want a trials bike for ages.

except i have considered getting a cheap 20" one to test the water.

Want. BMX or MTB, don't care. I just want to live here.

I rode purely trials from '93 to '99, i grew up in the same town as a few of the big household/mbuk trials names at the time. I wasnt nearly as good, but it was still ace fun and a learned a lot.

As a matter of fact I'd actually bought a VHS Signal Booster (aka copy protection stripper) and run this into my handycam which had a digital output I fed into my computer, all in order to create an electronic copy of this VHS (for backup/personal use only, obviously).
I have no idea what happened to this. I think my ex has it on my old computer. I've still got to collect $10k of home theatre kit from her but it's not really gonna fit in a suitcase or the 30kg luggage allowance... :S

I've actually been spending shitloads of time ripping hundreds of my CDs and cassettes to mp3 for transit back to the UK. I should've paid some school kid to do it.

Yep, I remeber building a series of ramps up onto the picnic table because of some article in MBUK. This is one thing that is so shit about MTB mag now all about one type of riding. Progress, ba humbug!
