The problem with this is that it suggests that the tools are all you need and with a powerful enough computer it's easy. But the real talent and what takes time isn't the manipulation of sound using computers, it's in identifying which sounds to sample and arranging them to create the music. The video lacked creative process.
I thought that was what it was trying to suggest too but then realised it was just a "look at what this software can do" video.
As you and gizmond both say it's the initial inspiration that is where the talent lies, many people can play Beethoven ...

Just got in. Saw this. Epic.....
I can honestly say that they are the best gig i have seen live, and i have the tinnitus to prove it.
Second to that, The Chemical Brothers at Gatecrasher Summer Sound System were a close second.
I was working as emergency medical assistance at that festival - and was gobsmacked by the sheer talent that is Tom and Ed. -

looking forward to this, thanks shoots
The OP isn't saying anything other than posting a video.
I'm well aware when the original was made and also the original equipment used.
Personally I think the the video shows the genius of Howlett's original composition and in particular his sample manipulation. It also shows how computer software has since developed to aid that process today.
Logic 9 is great Flex Time, Audio Quantize etc are a huge time saver if your are working with audio.
I think there is another thread about peoples mypace pages but I'm too lazy to search for it. I did a string of remixes last summer which you can hear on Hypemachine
