130mm disc hubs are kinda hens teeth now.
I think.

What's wrong with the Easton ar/arc rims?
-
• #4754
They need tape or some other kludge to go tubelesss IIRC.

• #4755
Ah yes understood.

Came here to say that. In fact, they were always hens' teeth, I can't think of more than one manufacturer who ever made one.

No UST certification, no #tester_approved :-)

Would anyone be interested in a small spotbrand longboard frame?
In decent used condition. Decals a bit shabby in places. But the glitter cream finish is still nice. Has a hope headset, hope seatpost clamp, and hope ceramic bb. All in 'gunsmoke'.
Could do it with complete gates carbon belt drive. It has horizontal drop outs, with an opening on the five side for the belt.
I have a carbon fork with alu bridge and steerer too.
Wheels too. Hope pro 2 on original velocity blunt rims (white). Laced with a mix of super comp, and laser spokes.
Im about to part all this up and eBay it. But if there's forum interest I could bring it over fir Xmas and post it on.

Have the seatpost too.
I've sanded the yellow logos off the fork and seatpost.

UST is a bit yester year and byword for weighty no?
The modern hookless rims designed for tubeless only need Stans tape, goo and a modicum of skill (or an airshot canister) to go up and while they won't be quite so secure as UST they can be raced on for 12hrs at 22psi without burping/losing pressure.

Whatever. I've had mine for over a decade, they just work. No tape, no sealant, no cans of air. That's what gets them #tester_approved.

No sealant, so what happens when you do make a hole in them?
I punctured one once. Didn't notice till I got home and was cleaning the bike. Oh look my tyre is bubbling.
UST rubber is robust but you can always bang some sealant in if you do get a serious incident. Or an inner tube.
The new Schwalbe TLE stuff is UST by another name

You should try riding schwalbe rubber anywhere flinty like round here. 5 holes in one ride. Never again. Continental ProTection Black Chilli etc has done 3000+ miles no holes though.

Yeah, was just trying to say the new Shwalbe stuff is sealed out of the box and doesn't need sealant to keep pressure - like UST.
No idea how resiliant it is - I have TLE Racing Ralphs on my 29er which is still borked. I do know the UST stuff is weighty because it's fecking bomb proof.
FWIW the Hans Dampfs on my 26er have done amazingly well; trips to alps, bike park wales, surrey hills but are still holding up well.

afaik the schwalbe sealant is just stans in a different bottle, with added blue dye
-

you can just make your own with window cleaner and latex powder. I've also read a bit of glitter helps too.

The Tynan™ recipe is the best!
-
• #4769
Glitter plugs bigger holes and gives more surface for the latex to dry.
So anything particulate.
the plant I work at makes polystyrene beads. I was considering just adding some from the smaller fractions say 0.2 - 0.7 mm.

Balls are probably the worst possible shape. Might work, but fibres would be better.

Nano ninja stars. Terrible puncture protection.

• #4772
Might have other inert particles lying around. I'll have to check.

Not much interest in my 29er. So I'm dismantling the whole thing and ebaying it bit wise. That way I get maximum eBay BS for my sells.

Finally managed to build my Ari 29".
Still some final parts needed, but it's rolling now!

congrats, so beautiful
Yeah thats what I reckon but seller not being sure makes me doubt it. He's just measured the frame though and reckons it is plus he replaced them with this:

Which is 135mm.
Cheers.
