no riding throught.... could be OK, when we get use too
I think I will rather not to have one, as a keeper that I'm it is easier not to have any thing, but I do understand that the game is moving in the direccion of getting standardised

Might make some people change their goalkeeping style, not being able to put their bike through (rather then across) the goal.
-
• #4
I will be happy to give it a go one day for throw-ins, to try

That would be my concern, I spend a fair amount of time in goal, and sometimes rolling through the goal is useful, but as rik said, id be up for giving it a try...

I think being able to ride through the goal is pretty important especially as the contact on goalkeeping players increases. Otherwise it's just going to need to be reset every 2 minutes.

• #10
you can't ride through the goal in hockey.
-
• #11
yeah, but this isn't hockey.

what?
-

Standardised width - yes (too many varying bike lengths, can make it bigger than a bike to make goal-keeping more technical, easier to reset cones after impact)
Standardised height - yes (for all the reasons we agreed a 'standard' height for the league)
Use of a crossbar - not sure, would be interested in playing with it in place.. but I can only think of a couple of instances where it would have benefitted the game being played and a lot of instances where it would be annoying

I'd like to try this. I think we are eventually going to have to have a crossbar.

if we don't have one now, why will we HAVE to have one in the future?
Looks like New York is pushing to create some kind of standardised goal width and height (Though Doug is vocal of the fact this is pointless without a standardised court size too).

The cross bar on the goals looks nice and simple though.
What do you all think?
