There's one other downside to leaning which Ed has not yet mentioned.
Yesterday I accidentally leaned, to an angle of roughly 100 degrees, and I found that the road made my face sore. I tried again a few miles later, same result.
So, for many reasons, don't lean.

Also, for the first crash, I was carrying a second bike on my back (powdercoaters) - does that mean I crashed two bikes at once? And, if so, do I get a prize?

THat reminds me of one of my exams in univeristy when (in person) I was asked amoung other things to explain why cyclists need to lean into a corner. I hashed it up saying something like "they need to oppose the acceration they induce in the wrong direction to go in the right direction". Was follwed by silence implying that I should expand on this non-point but I just sat there waiting for next Q. It was my 1st year mind.

Did a night ride on my local loop with four mates last night.
Hysterical.
Snow was so deep we gave up after about six miles of not knowing where the trails were. Still took us two hours.Cycled the roads back to the pub, got there frozen only to find two fat twats had pulled their two chairs and table RIGHT in front of the log fire. Feckers.

What could they have done? Shoudl they have pumped the brakes?
-
• #725
They shouldn't have locked the brakes, they should have kept a little power going through, they should've turned towards the corner.
But most importantly: If you're in a metal box that is sliding out of control, don't put yourself outside of the metal box also on said surface sliding out of control. Especially when you factor in that being inside the metal box you have safety equipment like restraints and balloons.

Balls! There's bugger all snow in central London. Just perpetual cold. I may write to my MP, I'm sure there is a committee somewhere I can complain to.
