If I copy a post -in this example that of Soul- then paste it into a Word document then the picture appears, I just cannot see it when looking at the forum.
This is, fairly obviously, not an ideal way of scanning through a thread.

From up here, we're watching cars slide around down below. It's kinda crazy, but they're all going way too fast for the conditions.
I wonder how the westies will fare getting home.

For those who don't think it's suitable to ride on a snowly day, I just saw two bloke on a brooklyn machine work with knobby tyres going down the red run on the piste at Val Thorens, now that's another levels of HTFU.

Some twat binned his car into the back of a gritter right in front of my eyes on my way home from a mate's around 1am. People driving hanging off each other's bumpers. Fucking retards. A12 wasn't gritted properly, snow was quite deep but tyre grooves meant you could get traction and get up to at least 30 mph safely. A guy a couple of cars in front of me decided this wasn't fast enough after 20 mins, indicated, accelerated and pulled out into the outside lane which had thick, untouched snow. What the fuck did he think was going to happen? Needless to say I think his seat was brown after he spun it, narrowly missed the car behind and ended up on the hard shoulder resting against the barrier.
No wonder the whole country shuts down with a bit of snow if everyone acts like colossal idiots.

A let down, no snow day for me alread at myt desk after a Highbury to Brentford commute.
No offs, no punctures only one snow ball thrown at me by school kids, all things consuidered not a bad one. -

Didn't see any snow. Got all togged up - even wore tights - and nothing. Grim messy weather. If the BBC thinks that is 8 inches, Mrs Fish must be a very disappointed woman.

My local MTB club did it's pub ride last night. 11 of us showed. We are out in Buckinghamshire. It had been wet but by the time we met at the first pub it was freezing, the roads were a sheet of ice. Not a gritter to be seen predictably.
The snow really came down while we were in pub number two. I switched to whisky: you need to plan these things. We were on hilly country lanes and on the way to pub number 3 we came across several stranded vehicles or cars trying pathetically to get up the hills. It was hugely rewarding just pedalling past them, seeing their worried faces through the misty windows as their tyres shreaked in the ice.
We left the last pub at gone 11 and cycled the eight or so miles back along the same country lanes. Most of the cars had got out but a poor sod in his Ocado van, on his way back to Hertford was stuck good and was never going to get out. There was nothing we could do to help.
Pedalling in the snow is great. We turned off the lights and crunched through the muted countryside, heavy snow thankfully falling in a following wind, pushing up some of the steeper icy hills, but riding all the flats and downs quite easily. When we went past it, the M40 was down to two slow lanes. I hear they've closed it for three junctions near us.
I eventually got home at 1AM. Unscathed. I've never had so much fun on a bike.
Stop teasing Dammit with all those pictures he can't see!
