So tomorrow I'm going to take my gears out for some miles and if anyone else feels like riding in the shitty rain and wind with me that'd be nice. I'm thinking about Cambridge and back - my route makes that about 140 miles. If you fancy that or just heading there with me let me know (I'm going to try and ride back however)

• #785
^you got gears!? I never knew...
-
• #786
Would love to join you but busy, unfortunately.
-
• #787
Yeah I got myself a cracking deal on a little BMC (of course as it's me it had to be little). Good news about HDIJ as well. You thought about doing the Harp Hilly Hundred the next day? I am....
-
• #788
Oh sweet, alu?
You are a crazy (fit) bastard. I definitely won't be doing that no. If I had gears maybe, but not fixed two days in a row.
-
• #789
Yeah, alu. I thought about upgrading to the crabon frame but the whole thing was such a steal I had to do it as is. I'll brag about what I got when I see you next, I ain't going to humblebrag on the forum, I'll just straight brag IRL.
As for being fit yeah well I haven't done it yet have I!!!

Christmas Eve MTB ride for those who fancy it tomorrow at Swinley, check the MTB thread for details

Not exactly last minute, but planning to ride to Brighton this coming Friday, and would be happy to have some company. Setting off Brixton at 10, following route below, more or less (maybe without the bit where I got lost in Croydon). Planning to take it steadily but not fast, and no big stops, to get there for 3ish.
Route is pretty but hillier than other LtoB routes, so am going geared.

that will get you there in 1 piece.
yeah mate, sounds like a good adventure
I've never known you to say "slow down a bit" so I'll assume that the 15mph comes with an occasional horsesplay caveat and I'll see you at 9.
might be gears tomorrow. Got a new bike I need to break in. Assume that's ok?
