I'm quite contr*a*dictory and often pedantic with spelling. I'm not generally a forum police or internet guardian though. I am however heavily medicated if I haven't mentioned that earlier.
Seriously; sort your lock out, enjoy your bike and come here to answer your questions. Just understand that there are people here who will call you out on starting threads that are answered elsewhere. They're not jackasses, for the most part, just they've seen this time and again. Search, learn, go for rides and meet people at beers. Life is good.

I think you mean masochist. Not that I know of such perversions or have paid for an experience of them in Vegas.

Not that there is any record of me engaging in that. I paid in cash. Untraceable.

Most people here hardly know me if at all. I'm off the bike at the moment on the doctor's orders, curing my ailments with powerful drugs and medicinal scotch so trolling the forum for easy threads. People have had worse starts here. It's teh intetubes, ride a bike and meet people and enjoy.
I'm not in the loop on a lot of forum goings on, but I would advise against multiple aliases at this point in time. :^) <--happy emoticon
Actually Stuart would be a lot easier for most people to type.

Get over yourself
there are many of us here who got flames and royally roasted for our initial posts
so htfu and get out and meet people
it's much less likely for someone to say utfs to your face

it's much less likely for someone to say utfs to your face
Mainly because it's easier to physically tell someone what they need to know rather than type it.

At my first and only West Beers I asked maxcrowe where the loo was and he said, "UTFS, n00b!". Just saying.

2 weeks ago at beers, wiganwill handed me a carton of custard with "UTFS" and "HTFU" written on it in black marker which was a lovely and weird gesture.

done.
You're lazy
jammy, you are aware that that lock isn't in the Locks That Work thread...and why?
Firstly, all the locks in the said thread, are nearly impossible to bolt-crop by hand. This is due to the 16mm minimum thickness for the locks' bar diameters.
That particular Krytonite is not what I would recommend. Sure its tough, but its hand-bolt-croppable.
I'm guessing that you must own this lock, and therefore your satisfaction with it makes you recommend it. Fair do's,
but its really a compromise lock, that's tough, but not ultra heavy or bulky. That is also it's weakness. -

Even so it's still a usable everyday lock, I still use mine.

Ed, the difference between you, and many other forumengers, that ask about locking, is that you are very security conscious,
and you know the best ways to lock your bike, and where NOT to leave it, and also for how long a bike can be left in certain areas. If others knew this, the Stolen Bikes thread would be a very small thread indeed. The reason I keep promoting the locks from the
Locks That Work thread, is that many people will lock and forget their bikes. At least the 18mm locks provide the strongest security,
and 16mm locks are not so far behind. Not disagreeing, just explaining why I point this out to those that ask.

a word of warning on locks. I've bought a few bikes from police auctions with all sorts of locks on and the toughest so far - the £150 Abus lasted 40 seconds cutting with a mains angle-grinder. Typical £50 u lock goes about 15.

Yes, I think its well known that no security is perfect, but a mains-powered angle-grinder was last used in a street theft when?

Most pro bike thieves use petrol-driven angle grinders which are far more powerful than the mains ones. The police sell these at the same auctions. Stihl seems to be the brand of choice.
so... um... am i being reccomended a D lock here or not?
