Best solution IMHO, as the housing don't go through a high degree of stress, I've seen some that last for a while and still won't budged.

The ones I've got are just stick on, no additional zip tie slot I believe. Will give them a go and see what happens.
Looking for some zero rise bars with a bit of backsweep. Surly open are silly money and poss a bit curvier than I want. -

As in the housing "clip" in place without needing zip tie?

Yeah, for some reason I thought the ones superfly posted the zip tie went round the tube for extra security as well as the 3m.
Mine are essentially the same but with a smaller baseplate. -

Do you have a link? Sounds interesting

Edmundro........
so yours are smaller, thus lighter and more aero so your Beik will be faster :) -

Totally random.
If you use the "Today" button for ongoing threads as they happen, then Surly Steamroller will show up 3 times. Might only last an hour.
Just curious if some sort of Candyman thing will happen :)

Progress.
V-sprints arrived today. Bon Jons 35c, stem and seatpost from the parts bin.
Frustratingly the valve split on the rear tube while taking pics. My fault for buying super cheap.

Think I want flat bars with a bit of backsweep. Any suggestions beyond humpert moon bugel? Black, 25.4 or 26 clamp.

So chuffed I got a monkey butt red one. Looks well snazzy with compass tyres.
Still haven't decided on drivetrain. Will be mellow ss gearing as this is also gonna be used for trailer pulling duties(need to order some bob nutz). V sprints came with a 16t cog for skidder days so will have a think about an appropriate chainring/freewheel combo. -

Shimano r451 and tiagra flat bar levers ordered. Decided to go with humpert moon bugel cos cheap.

... what's that metal poll doing in the center of your kitchen?

I'm sure you can work it out without me spelling it out to you..
So, where do people usually run their rear brake cable on steamrollers? On top, underneath or on the side of the top tube? I know it's just an aesthetic choice but wondered if there was a consensus when using stick on guides..

Underneath top tube work the best, like directly 180 degrees.

Cheers Ed, will be cabling up today. Not convinced by the humpert moon bugel, the smooth curve of the sweep looks a bit naff..

Getting there. Just need drivetrain. The stick on guides are ok but don't have space for a zip tie to pass thru so have to use the crappy little horseshoe clip.

I kinda want a rear black arrospok for this...

Black spok to match the black platforms and corset
kinda can't help but notice things in the background.
Are you Dr Frank'n'Furter :)
Got the more spendy M-part stick on guides from SJS.
I put 3 along the side of the top-tube.
The one near the seat tube junction has moved from tension in the brake cable.
5mm cable is free fitting, so larger cable will fit.
Looks nicer than my normal ghetto fix on racing mtb's of just zip-tie a full cable outer run for brake/gear to tubes.
