cycling in the pouring rain - absolute joy (if going home to a change of clothes etc)
cold crisp days
fewer slow cyclists
days where its so cold you dont sweat until you get to work and if you undress quickly enough clothes are almost dry for the journey home
You work naked !?
That's fucking dark.

Streaming eyes that can't focus. Snail trails on your gloves.
That feeling when the "burning cold" subsides, and riding just feels amazing. -
• #34
…I don't really need to invest in studded tyres.

i love all the random crap that you have to carry (overshoes, jackets, multiple layers, gloves, lights, mudguards etc). it's great.

i also love when winter finally, finally, FINALLY ends in about May.

I absolutely love getting double punctures when I'm only carrying one tube, then getting soaked in the rain shower that I would have missed had I been riding.

What I love most about cycling in England through the winter is...
Fuck all...
-
• #45
riding through that one day when the weather is completely shit and realizing you can ride in any weather the winter can throw at you.

When you finally make it home soaked to the bone, you strip off all your soggy stuff and you've got bright pink skin ready for some warming.

Then realise that you are standing, naked, in the hall of your shared house.

+1
I love cycling up a trail that has for some reason become a stream, slipping on a rock that rips off my valve and dumps me in the freezing water so I have to walk the last two miles home with a torch that doesn't work because my cheap batteries don't work in the cold...
Werd. thats where its at...
