Don't wish to alarm anyone, but have gregg's changed their mix this year, or maybe I accidentally got a vegan pack.
Were dry and average, only could eat one at a time, normally the whole 6 pack is at risk, did not have that feeling this time -

I am alarmed.

I can recommend Iceland's Luxury mincers. About £1.90 for 6.

Bit small aren’t they? How can you be expected to pile on the pounds at that size?

I’m also small.
We’re a household of two small people and my wife insists on baking family size cakes, there’s enough calories floating around.

First of the season
Asda Luxury. Pastry is quite dry and powdery, to the point it could cause trouble with a dry throat sans cup of splosh to have with it. Decent amount of boozeishnessosity from the mincemeat, although that's quite dry too. 6/10

Chocolate mincer?! Mind blown.
Just ate my first: fancy M&S one. Need to eat another to even attempt a review.

I had my first this year on Sunday. That's right, Sunday. In November. I have never done that before, but its been an unusual year in many respects.
It was from Gails and I waited until my children had finished theirs before feigning to remember the double cream in the fridge, which I then added liberally. An all-round triumph -

Who knows what wonders await behind the next 23 little doors!
Was pretty disappointed by the M&S bluebox ones.

In previous years some of the best mince pies have been from the local butcher. About to break the mince pie fast with a packet that was purchased this afternoon. At purchase they were still warm but we decided to wait until afternoon tea so a couple each are now in the oven reheating.

Cracked yesterday, disappointed in myself that I couldn't wait until today. Went for some Oggs Luxury Handmade Mince Pies from Sainos, disappointed again, seem to have a very high apple content in the mince which made them almost gluey in mouth feel. Yes they are vegan but don't see why that should mean they replace good old sugar with fruit... Pastry was nice though. Time to get stuck in with out guilt now it is December!

i put Crunch Nut peanut butter on a greggs mincer last night. pretty astounding really

Couldn't say whether they've changed this year as I broke my Gregg's virginity yesterday, based on you lot's raving on yer. Pastry was nice, very short, but filling was runny, hardly any body to it, and sweet? like you wouldn't believe. Time to dust off the mincemeat recipe and get bakin'

I'm normally fairly hard-line as these things go. However, fellow brethren of the pie, Sunday was Advent Sunday, the start of the mincer season (traditional rite); we're now all 100% justified in our mincery.
(I went for Morrisons ISB deep-fill pies: not quite as good as in previous years - the filling could be more generous and could do with a splash of booze - but decent enough, maybe 7.5/10)

Deliberately mis-read the labelling of a Heston-derived box of 'The Month Before Xmas'mincers.
Oddly, but taste-pleasingly, they contained carrot within the mincemeat.
Odd cyclindrical slice shape as well. Will almost certainly succumb again.

I think Greggs have changed over the years. Last year I had one it was so sweet I thought I'd gone into the future a little bit, had to sit down.....
Reminded me of coming up on an ecto....
Rum butter is better though, save the brandy for the brandy sauce.
