  • You boys in the scene can't stress me out.
You think I'm a snake, you don't know me.
I've been flying through the ends and picking up packs. Morrisons got tekkers, puff and shortcrust from the bakery are good, but the deep fill best are aptly named and I've been buying rack after rack.

  • News just in: Morrisons Christmas Pudding Yoghurt makes very acceptable mincer methadone.

  • Rolled into Tesco 6am yesterday still half asleep. Left with a bottle of milk and pack of bakery counter mincers.

Low key start to the season.

    It begins.

  • It's Halloween tomorrow people.
    Get a grip.

  • There's no pumpkin pie appreciation thread though

  • I got a grip.

Not on my strap, but on deck after deck of mince pies.

  • Obviously, it's tomorrow. Why would you have one today...?

  • *shakes head sadly *

  • Bought a pack of co-op standard mincers today. Anaemic pastry, but a decent splat of filling. Might finish the box off this evening.

  • Did a 6 pack of coops upper range,, great really nice start to the year, and a 12 pack of lies from waitrose.

  • Sainsbury Free From are the best in my opinion, but it's a low bar.

The other half makes superb ones, can probably share the recipe if you want to go down that route.

  • Tesco’s Plant Kitchen range have introduced a vegan mincer. Unfortunately, it’s pretty nondescript, but will have to do until Gregg’s get on the case.

  • What is the worst about gluten free?
Is it the pastry or the Mincemeat?

  • Sold out at local Greggs. Disappointing start to the season.

  • Dunn's in Crouch End truly got this locked off.

The citrus and liqueur dances on the tongue and lingers on the roof of the mouth. There's a thick shortcrust pastry with the perfect ratio of bite to chew and a heavenly butteriness to it. Only negative I can see is that I'd like a little more of that filling and £1 a pop is definitely steep.

  • Fuck yeah, I used to live around the corner from Dunn’s. Mysteriously put on a lot of weight in that year, not sure why.

  • Co-op’s luxury all butter offering is pretty decent. Pasty isn’t quite there but the filling is fairly generous and has a decent smack of booze in there.

  • One of life's great mysteries. No point trying to solve it.

  • Yeah the filling ratio much better on the Co-op 'besties' than Sainos.

  • can probably share the recipe if you want to go down that route.

Plz! Mine just said she'd like to give it a go!

  • £1 a pop for a bangin pie is fine I reckon. A fancy croissant or pastry will be double that.

  • They sell them all year round. I once asked if they see many sales in June. Got told they do occasionally.

  • I did not know this, I'll be happily buying these mincers all year round.

  • True, but I reckon if it was a big sesh I could smash 4 in a row, starts getting pricey.
