  • No mate.
The potato thread is in the other place

  • it's ok it was the hacker asking that

    i'm not arsed

  • It's got a touch lively in here.

  • I'm on Waitrose "all butter" this eve. Not too shabby.

  • Just nailed a brace of Gregg's finest. Loved them. True Christmas.

  • What’s up with @fizzy.bleach, they sold out of hand crafted mince pies in artisanal Northern bakeries?

  • Epic sugar rush from a quintuple six desk session. Hardcore even for a experienced mincer such as he.
The come down is going to be epic...

  • Prescription Panettone for the next couple of days. Will be fine.

  • Maybe the snack size ones. A full size P might kick it all of again. These truly are dark times.

  • Dusty Knuckle mince pies: good deep filling, pasty integrity wasn't the best, but tastes suitably buttery. Overall a good pie.

  • Bought a packet of Tescos finest...not good.
    Back to greggs

  • Greggs Church Street- massive disappointment.
    2/10- crust adequate.

Made 'Mince Pie' Cookies the other day. Would recommend.
(essentially my pre-mix for mincemeat used instead of raisins etc for oatmeal cookies).

  • I have to declare that I'm unfamiliar with Greggs baked produce and their culinary methods. There seems to be very varied feedback here, are all their mPies sourced from the same location or does some sort of true baking happen in the outlets, which could result in recipe variation? Suppose same question for any other shops 'baked in house' type items, although I understand this often just means 'warmed up here'.

  • I've heard that in order to truly understand a situation one needs to personally observe what is happening at the site where work actually takes place.

If only we had an expert on the subject of observing manufacturing processes on hand.

  • Pretty sure there's a number here who've spent valuable time perusing the wares. Repeating the study can be muda

  • if you think about it, any type of flesh -mammal, bird, reptile or mollusc - can be turned into mince, spiced, and encased in a pie.

  • what checks and balances are there to ensure we're not eating more tortoise meat than science recommends?

    the media is curiously silent.

  • I've been trying to get my friends into the 100% tortoise diet without much success, it's just a really hard shell.

  • Local butcher does the best mincers I have had in the last couple of years

    Great pastry, generous filling.

  • Have been on a stollen bender the last couple of days, but found time to drop into marks n sparks for a fresh from the oven bakery special mincer this morning. Fuck yeah.

  • The first batch of home made gluten free (I’m coeliac) mincers.

Testing after dinner. I’ll report back.

  • They look the nuts

  • These are the best local mincers to us, Bevans Butchers in Kingston. £1 a pop or 5 for £4. I've found they are best warmed with double cream and paired with a chilled measure of Lustau Solera sherry. Up market mincing.
